Would be nice for a neutral. I tend to 50/50 it
And my that I mean out of the 6 completed campaigns I have run in PF2 3 have been adventures run as much by the book as possible and 3 have been fully homebrew.

This is about the only thing that doesn't come standard in session 0s that I recommend.
You shouldn't be asking this question after the event. You should always know beforehand. My campaign player guides always include "this is the fail state for this campaign."
JustJacque
Well if you want legal, then for many people that process would take a long time. "Just leave" isn't really an option for many, especially those who are already disenfranchised by capitalism.
JustJacque
So you are pro-immigration?

Which is why mc Donald's is famously closed during school hours.

I think even then SF2 is more different content wise than NO is to 5e content wise. One of the things I love about it is (even though the selection is small) all the SF2 classes operate differently from the PF2 classes.
JustJacque
Exactly! Also I can't do anything today as I have to make dinner later. I need dinner to survive and I can't do more than one thing at a time.

Alright will you support the increase of workers wages to allow someone to work only part time and still look after their aging relatives? No, well fuck your appeal to the golden times.
Will you support social programs paying people enough to live on if they choose to stay home and look after their family? No, well fuck your appeal to the golden times.
Will you support programs to make.housing affordable so families can have enough space to live together? No, well fuck your appeal to the golden times.
Will you promote the rise of flexible working arrangements like working from home so that someone is around and able to take time looking after family at home? No, well fuck your appeal to the golden times.
Will you support free healthcare so that the elderly can be looked after without incurring horrific debt? No, well fuck your appeal to the golden times.

The problem with the old style was that "early game weak, late game strong vs early games strong, late game weak" is a paradigm that just means during any given session, half your players feel like the aren't contributing as much as the other half. Its fantastic game design for an experience meant to last 60 minutes, less so for one designed to last 60 hours.
JustJacque
Actually they aren't that bad IF you treat the game like an excel spreadsheet. Everything they are balanced around is just pure white room numbers. What they lack is all the stuff that doesn't factor into raw dpr or defence, like having a single different option for their turns after level 3.

TBF I think something can be fun to run, basically any RPG can be with a group that clicks well, without that thing being particularly good at teaching you how to achieve that.
LMoP doesn't really offer anything about how one might teach the game, or build up complexity organically, or give tools for a new DM to build their own adventure after etc.
JustJacque
That is not any concrete rules whatsoever. Ask your DM is not concrete rules, especially when there isn't any support for the DM to answer that question. You wouldn't say a rule of "when you want to attack something you use your weapon proficiency, your GM will come up with a reasonable DC" and then there never be an example of a monster stat block or stat guidelines was some concrete rules. You'd call it barely functional.
JustJacque
Yeah so ask your GM.
JustJacque
No you can jump further than your strength score. The book just literally says if you want to ask your GM.
JustJacque
The moment someone asks "can I jump further than my str score." the moment someone asks "can I sneak around." Etc etc.
JustJacque
I love how they use AI for this. A process which is functionally what they are trying to debunk.
JustJacque
I love how any time anyone is critical of the current state of the US, the anti immigration influencer suggests emigration.

/uj not exactly a gold standard. Even the best received stuff like Curse of Strahd still fall heavily into the "doesn't really do it's job out the box" category.
JustJacque
Judging by the plastic surgery the ruling class are already getting to fit in, I think they'll be bad a$$ implants instead.
JustJacque
I mean Dragon isn't exactly a good bar. It really seems all of 5e starter offerings actually run under the assumption you have an experienced GM running for new players, rather than being a good starter for whole groups.
JustJacque
That's alright I totally missed what sub this was.
/uj LMoP is an awful introduction in how to run or play DND. As many groups first try at the game from an official source it does little to support actual good encounter structure for a newbie GM to build from.
JustJacque
Oh that has nothing to do with martial caster divide and everything to do with Lost Mines being an awful starter set.
JustJacque
I don't think anyone recommends whole RPGs for individual characters. More often it's when people are asking how to run an entire genre/style.

For me I actually liked a lot of the mechanics (prefer hunger levels to blood mana any day.)
But the layout of the books was horrible, making it very difficult to use them as any kind of rules reference. I'd often go looking for a mechanic and find 1 line of rules buried in two paragraphs of waffle. Like I'm here to double check I got the rules for damage of Mortals/Vampires. This should take me 30s.
Secondly was content quality and structure. I like the discipline system in general with split powers, but oh boy was that inconsistent. And then the game shipping with less than half the clans. Real rocky start.
Yes, as I would use most of that money to make the services I offer free to my community for as long as I live.
