"Well known" by who exactly? Do you have a reference?
K900_
Wayland is a protocol, GNOME and Plasma have two completely separate implementations of it, so it makes no sense to compare the two as if there's a fundamental Wayland limitation.
K900_
Thank you for being able to admit that you're wrong. (completely serious)
K900_
Well as I said, you still need to copy something when you have applications running on two different GPUs. Technically it can be a bit faster to copy the other applications to the scanout GPU, and then do the final compositing on that, but it's a lot of complexity for not a lot of performance gain. It is theoretically possible though, so maybe one day.
K900_
That's not what that post is saying. The secondary GPU can be used for rendering, just not for compositing the final image, which necessarily involves some sort of a copy - either copying the rendered frame from the dGPU to the iGPU, or copying the rest of the screen from the iGPU to the dGPU. None of this means that you can't "use the performance of your dGPU" or whatever it is you're claiming.
K900_
No, you really haven't. You can already run any application on your dGPU, direct scanout or not.
K900_
Then can you explain what your actual problem is, instead of complaining about "architectural issues" you clearly don't understand?
K900_
What do you want to happen then? Have each GPU render directly to its connected display? What if a window is displayed on both?
K900_
It is.
K900_
Steam already has this for Proton games on all GPUs.
K900_
ncurses
K900_
Yes, though it has a very annoying rotation if you want to get good DPS in endgame content.
K900_
Says who?
K900_
Lots of Russian queer folks online, especially younger ones. Just find your people, like in any language.
K900_
No.
K900_
There's literally a wikipedia page for the thing? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JingPad_A1
K900_
I wouldn't know.
K900_
Because I don't care about rice.
K900_
Yes?
K900_
When using e.g. HDMI with bitstream audio.
K900_
No, this is correct.
K900_
It's up to your distro to provide packages after the sources are released, so it'll likely not be immediate.
K900_
- This is already how things work.
- Slop.

Generally if it's set to disabled, the iGPU will be fully turned off on boot.
Unless there's a math trick I'm missing, this seems to just be "solve two puzzles and put the solutions together", which is not great. You also can't reliably ban every single built-in way to convert a number into hexadecimal, so a clever enough user can just bypass your filters instead.
