Summertime Rendering - this is probably the highest quality and best fitting one you missed, similar to Higurashi but really supernatural

The Summer Hikaru died - this is shaping up to be amazing, but it isn't finished, only one season out

Mysterious Disappearances - it has comedy, it has ecchi, it's still what you're looking for

The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window - it has comedy, it has ecchi, homoerotic but it's still what you're asking for

The Earthbound Mole - has comedy, is unfinished

Bonus Mention: Astra Lost in Space - this is not horror, but sci-fi and instead of supernatural you get a sci-fi solution. The reason why I think you'd like it is because they did really well with the mystery part of the show and the investigation and reveals that you will find it very satisfying and it also has some creepy vibes comparable to some of the shows you mention.

but most people i know liked it from episode 1

Yeah I didn't either. I didn't hate it, it wasn't bad, but it felt like a pretty shiny looking yet quite average battle shonen with few original ideas if any. Until the season finale, season 1 had a pretty good finale.

I also enjoyed the characters and the music, so that convinced me to continue and check out the movie JJK 0, which I liked a lot better. The suspense and the emotional moments hit a lot harder and I found it was a solid 8/10 movie.

Then I continued with season 2 and was blown away.

If the fighting animation is less important to you, I recommend you check out "Sword of the Demon Hunter", which is set in historical times, has an adult main character and is less flashy and definitely not urban cool. The general topic is quite similar, but it's much less action heavy and has some very beautiful scenery vibes.

Monogatari: several of the girls carry a burden caused by trauma/suggestion in the past, there's a good example right at the start of the first season Bakemonogatari and the most clear example of actual hypnosis happens in Nisemonogatari to mc's first sister.

Death Note: female lead, selective amnesia, a side character is also manipulated against her will with a fatal outcome

Code Geass: you should really watch this, there's no way to put it without giving a major plot spoiler

Yes, yes it is. Especially if you like GoT style shows. That's not saying it's exactly the same vibe or genre, but it's definitely a better fit for you than for someone who's a fan of the Gilmore Girls. Another good recommendation would be 'Vinland Saga'. Other shows might hit your interest even more, maybe 'Kingdom' or 'Legend of the Galactic Heroes', but they have some issues that make them not ideal as starters. Kingdom starts with a less than fantastic quality compared to its manga and it's not a perfect starter if you have to wade through tons of episodes of a bad quality with dated looks - or even worse a show you can only really enjoy if you read the beginning in the manga. Legend of the Galactic Heroes is older, not easy to come by and the space setting might not be everyone's thing. The rework/new version is said to be good too, though, but I haven't checked it out personally, so take it as hearsay.

People have different preferences. The big number of people perfectly happy with the update have no reason to talk about it and look for a 'solution' (which is more of a customization, since functionality is not an issue). That's also fair game though. Looking for customization is valid and the way Firefox design philosophy goes, people are also coming with a certain expectation. There's noone to blame here, if there's room for improvement then Firefox could have made it less clunky/hidden to get to the result these users want, which in the end, fortunately, is perfectly possible.

Rotating your phone at least improves it slightly.

I honestly don't feel confident sharing code I don't fully understand, but I can tell you what I did. I went to google and asked in the search bar. It will give you step-by-step instructions, how to find the folder you need to save the file in and what to change in firefox so it uses the file. It's a userChrome.css file, similar to the one described in this thread.

However that one was pretty much the first version the AI came up with too and it didn't go far enough for my taste, I wanted all the other elements like the URL-bar etc. also with sharp corners, so I told the AI and just added a few lines of code to that file, saved and restarted the browser and that's how I got there.

A good search keyword for the firefox Themes place is "flat" - it skips all the Deltarune-Naruto-Lilo-and-Stitch designs.

I had a similar experience today and I said F it and caved and asked the google AI for help - because I have zero chops in these things myself and I wanted to try it.

The solution it came up with was to use a custom stylesheet in a userChrome.css file and change the settings in FF so it uses it - and it worked for me!

This is how it looks for me now with the additional change to compact mode since I'm on a tiny laptop.

In everyday language, "sieben" is often pronounced as "siem", this change from "-ben" to "-m" is quite far spread and also happens to other common short words like for example: leben, haben, neben, bleiben. It's used infrequently and limited to some specific dialects only for geben, oben, lieben. And almost never used if the -ben comes after a closed syllable.

That's some solid picks right here! They wouldn't all be my personal selection for the top 9, but with most of them I can see where you're coming from. And I realize I really need to check out Iron Wok Jan, because I haven't yet touched it.

By the way, did you try the Summer Hikaru Died? That's a show I'd clearly place in my top from the 2020s and I think it has a vibe you might enjoy as well.

I'm curious about Firefly Wedding and Fool Night and I'm definitely looking forward to Cyberpunk Edgerunners.

I only noticed Mooo Sycho 100.

I don't find the rules of this game very transparent and I'm not confident enough in my prediction to put much time into reading up on it, so I usually do the sensible thing: randomly click together a team solely for the badge if I catch the time window.
