I do have explained. If you did not grasp it, that is none of my problem as your lack of education is not my problem. It is yours.

First: Sun is not stationary. Planets does not move on plane. Both are abstractions for simple minds to grasp. The real form of a solar system is cone of trailing planets following the sun orbiting the Galactic Core. And planets are are moving around the Sun (or suns) at the same time as they rotate.

When calculating orbital positions of the solar system bodies an astronomy (a.k.a. astrophysics), there was 12 orbital factors for most bodies to calculate where it will be at specific date and time.

I have not played the Alpha Strike myself, but as much I do have hear of it, it is definitely better starting point than the full BattleTech as BattleTech rules are quite complicated.

Kautsu-Gamer

I will post it: Infinite heat with 99.999999% efficiency ( which is way above teh rocket engine efficiency ) would produce infinite heat and there is no material which may withstand it. 0.000001% times infinity is infinity.

Q.E.D.

And I am arguing against that design choice. I am sorry, but game designers and authors have no authority over me. Even authors makes mistakes. I am not asking all change it, I am just giving more options for people who does not have gambling addiction hook the game is designed to tickle with obfuscation of propabilities.

No need to say anything. Just nod or wave, but if you want to say something "hei" or "moi" is totally fine to say. If you want to be more formal, saying "Hyvä päivää" (good day), "Hyvää huomenta" (good morning) or "hyvää iltaa" (good evening) is totally fine.

Kautsu-Gamer

I did already explain this. You did not get it.

There is 2 cases: - In atmosphere with air maintaining the proper radial velocity by pushing the dropship along just like it does to everything. - Outside atmosphere you need constant thrust to maintain the radial speed equal to the atmosphere movement before entering the atmosphere. Too slow, and the atmosphere hits you. Too fast, and the ship bounce like flat stone on lake when tossing hops die bouncing off the atmosphere.

It means complications are always part of the opposing pool, but every 1 rolled on complication counts like hitch of the owner of the complication. The pool taking advantage of a complication cannot use the rolled 1s, but can pay 1PP for Opportunity (or GMC using PC complication may create Complication)

This means: - Complication never benefits the owner of the complication when added to opposing pool - Complication never hinders the opposing pool using it.

Kautsu-Gamer

Not to the total. To the pool, and rest are discarded. I never said Resources represents more than 1 die. You assumed, you did not check, and you botched.

I did actually say Resource adds only one die - the highest rolled - to the dice pool. Due that it may only hitch if all Resource dice are hitches - like I said.

Kautsu-Gamer

Ghost in the Shell - awaken the spirit of an item changing the item into an animated item.

The game should have Troupe mode in which every player has multiple characters.

Also retiring a character should give some boon to the player promoting moving forward and taking a new character to play.

Ideas: - free gather info action - additional experience trigger - reputation boost - free reduce heat action - free long term project action - boost for specific Create Asset action

Kautsu-Gamer

Resource can hitch, and Resource can be used for effect. The Cortex Prime rules does not exclude the single result die added to the pool from either.

Hitching a resource is unlikely, as it requires rolling ones on all resource dice, as is using resource as Effect as it is mere D6.

Kautsu-Gamer

This is actually a flaw of the system. Due this flaw the exception of adding Complication D4s to the owner pool is required.

There is already an exception having distinct subset of the pool: Resources. They are rolled separately, and only the best die is added to the result roll.

I do myself suggest house rule the Hitches on Complications create Opportunity removing the requirement to give it ever to the owner, and due this adding complications to the pool never count towards gaining PPs. With current rules complication may be beneficial if 4 or 3 is rolled as it may improve the total of the opposing pool.

When using pool roll for narrating, the separation of the complications like resources is very useful.

Kautsu-Gamer

I think one important move would be support for Roll20 and Forge with character sheets and roll mechanics. Allowing player to split their WS between Attack and Parry and roll mechanics giving the proper table highlighting the result row would be superb.

Also automatic penalty and status effect tracking as well as experience trigger tracking would help a lot.

RoleMaster would dramatically benefit from this as the system is very number heavy.

Kautsu-Gamer

Actually you do not. You calculate the arc, but project it to linear flight path with planned changes of direction. The characters in the settings does the 4D (3D + time) calculations creating the legs of the approach.

The difficulty of the Pirate Point jumps also indicate the player calculations are just abstraction as real orbital calculations are too difficult for most of people - as this talk proves.

There is very good reason every watch of the Jumpships and Dropships included either pilot or secondary pilot.

Kautsu-Gamer

The ComStar has succeeded in your indoctrination perfectly removing all thinking with blind faith.

The orbital mechanics are abstracted put, but both Aerotech atmospheric entry and the Dropships and Jumpships does try to simulate orbital mechanics.

Kautsu-Gamer

Your lack of education is strong. Astronomy is advanced physics, and orbits is part of astronomy.

Did you mess it with astrology?

Kautsu-Gamer

Your talk indicates you did not pass any courses at university claiming orbits are linear. I rest my case.

Kautsu-Gamer

Lets say, I do have European astronomy courses in my university studies.

There is no wall of fire, but a solid wall similar to hitting water if entry has wrong angle and velocity.

Kautsu-Gamer

Apparently there is plenty of Americans with lack of education on this reddit.

Kautsu-Gamer

Lets talk when you have passed astrophysics 101 at university. I do have.

Even on aerial navigation shortest path is an arc. The shortest path on 2D Mercator projection is not shortest path. Due this the piloting is not easy.

Kautsu-Gamer

1G to which direction? Orbital calculations use 12 variables to calculate object position over time on solar system. Not 1

Kautsu-Gamer

No, they do not. You are using 2D math on 3D vectors ignoring the movement of the planet itself.

Due the problem of 2 velocity vectors (planet to sun, and ship to planet), the shirtest path to Mars often involve slingshot using Sun or Jupiter for problems.

The atmosphere is not stationary. The planet is not stationary, but moving very fast on diffrent orbital vector.

Kautsu-Gamer

Because too low velocity bounces you out of atmosphere back to space as does too much. The problem is the potential energy converted to velocity when orbital radius gets lower.

All orbital movement is parabolical, not linear until you enter atmosphere.

There is 2 orbital velocities: the planet to sun, and the ship to planet. When the ship to planet gets zero, the planet to sun hits hard or the planets move away leaving you to space. When planet to sun gets zero the atmosphere hit with its momentum.

Due this active 3D acceleration on parabolical path is required.

Kautsu-Gamer

You do not have inmited trust in BattleTech either. And your flaw is in thinking the orbital speed zero stays zero when descending. It does not, but the potential energy converts to orbital velocity. And you truly are not good at teaching as it requires understanding.

Also the burn increases heat due both heating the atmosphere and the efficiency of the thruster. Infinite thrust leads to infinite heat build up, which leads to infinite burning of the ship.

Kautsu-Gamer

It does not work like that. Orbital mechanics are really annoying, and all that matters is potential energy you must burn to proper levels.

Spheroids are moving orbitally when they descent, but it looks like vertical only when the constantly reduce radial velocity while fighting against gravity.
