“Everyone’s favorite blue m*dget Homestar…”
Yeah. That word is considered a slur by the people it’s aimed at.

Um… With Track buttons?

By “Grand Canyon,” did OP perhaps mean “Rio Grande Gorge?”
KayJayWhy
I always called it the “mushroom cut.” That might have just been me, though.

Oh, wait! I know what I’m supposed to say here. Ahem…
Unexpected Jay and Silent Bob!

Am I nuts or does the quality of the beef patties themselves fluctuate? I’m eating an Itsaburger at the Blake’s on Gibson as I type this, and it’s thin, dry, and grey. But I swear I’ve had nice, juicy patties from this location!

Whatever you do, don’t read Nate the Snake!

Huh. It was in a musical we did in Junior High and we sang “Track 29. I gotta get there on time.” Which is an abrupt change in POV, to be sure. I know I’ve also heard the Glenn Miller Orchestra version. I’m going to have to revisit some recordings of the song now!

I’ve been assuming he was a porter who worked for one of the railroad companies. Presumably an adult Black man.

Let’s also have a think about who the narrator is calling “boy” in that song. 😬

The younger cast members in that show were the Boomers.

I’ll bet you’re thinking of Bob Nelson.

Guess you could say the repair shop…
…made it function properly again!

Their lead singer was famously at the Oslo Accords screaming “what if we compromise?”

Sad to see this kind of antimuridism still alive in this day and age.

Just for a month. And, certain drops will taper off as the month goes on.
An ointment that dissolves the cataract sounds interesting! But one of the advantages of the current system is that you get a brand new (plastic) lens, and the technology is getting so that you may end up with better vision than you had with your biological ones.

I remember that already being a thing of the past long before 9/11. Security kind of fluctuated before 9/11. It would get tighter when there was a terrorist attack (like the 1993 car bombing of the World Trade Center), rumors of a planned terrorist attack, or a war (like the first Gulf war) and then taper off a bit. But I remember waiting for my friends to meet me at the gate when my plane landed in Boston in like 1996, not realizing they weren’t allowed past security.
There was a permanent tightening of security that happened after 9/11. But we didn’t have to take our shoes off until that guy tried to light the bomb in his shoe (post 9-11), and the amount of gels and liquids we were allowed to carry wasn’t limited until there was a foiled (alleged) plot to blow up a plane using explosive liquids (also post 9-11).
