It's the word "gaze" for me when listening to the audiobooks - Rowling really loves talking about the characters gazing so it comes up a lot.
"Harry avoided Hermione's sinister gaze"
Which just conjures up the image of two flamboyant blokes looking really menacing and Harry giving them a wide berth. It's immature and I'm not proud of it but there we are.
