is there not a untilty on windows that acts like a virtual sound device, so you can connect as many audio devices as you want to it it looks like just 1 big device in windows? seems like there should be something already.

using musical instruments in place of real world sounds is instant cartoon.

i got halfway through recreating the microfreak in drambo. it was a big project so i kinda lost steam, but it is totally doable.

here is mine: that signing live through autotune effect sucks hard… it ruins songs for me cuz it’s all I can hear.

Key_Business_4097

what you talking about? I have never seen that… i call b.s.

Key_Business_4097

do you have Ableton suite installed? it comes w/ that.

Key_Business_4097

fyi sample and hold is not a wave shape, it is a circuit that literally samples the incoming value and holds it for set amount of time. this sounds like exactly what you are looking for, you just need a sample and hold that will let you define the input and use a midi note event as the gate.

this is cool. when I was in college my mom was working as a water quality educator for the local utility district. she would often go to events with a booth that had this cycling display thing that ran through the water cycle over and over, but it didn’t have any sound. she asked me to make sound for it. I had no way to sync up with the thing so I just made a loop timed as best I could to the visuals and told her to just restart it if it got too out of sync.

Yeah of course you can, but it's got all the bells and whistles.  It is literally screaming hey look at me!  I got all this stuff, don't you want to use it?  I'm not trying to talk trash about serum, it is great, but there are some things I think it is more suited for than others.

i was at that show...

Key_Business_4097

is there something like this for the kingston/suquamish/indianola area?

Key_Business_4097

I find serum 2 to be a “big in your face” kinda synth, and a track really can’t handle many of those sounds… operator can do subtle very well…. and you don’t have to use fm, there is an all osc parrallel algorithm.

my recollection from my commute there was at least most people here understood the zipper concept.

Key_Business_4097

I can’t speak to most of what you are asking, but if it was me, I’d do the thing I was passionate about and just fake the rest till I make it… ie, do dip, learn math as you go.

I have fallen asleep sitting in my car on the ferry many times. not as bad as a break down but still inconvenient for the people behind me.

Key_Business_4097

when doing fantasy guns, i like to sort of make a musical jingle out of it. like tick-thwack-pwowww...

my first thought was too much reverb

in the past I have just bought an old usb keyboard at a thriftstore or something, ripped of all but a few keys, and mapped those keys to the Ableton functions I needed. way cheaper than any bespoke options. you rip off the keys so you are sure to just hit the one you need with your foot.

there are a number of GitHub repos trying to set up a workflow. in my experience it is very difficult to get anything complicated built. look for max/mcp, that is one.

I am pretty sure that employer providied orca card will pay for the fast ferries (kitsap transit.). The money that saves you adds up quick... the fast ferries (at least the one i ride, kingaton/seattle) are like 13 dollars. I love that the fast ferries exist, they make the commute to seattle so muh more bearable. the only downside is there aren't enough weekday sailing (again, kingston/seattle.). just 3 in the morning and then 3 in the evening, last one at around 6:30pm.

it is pretty much unanimous . poulsbo. I would take it as a sign. I grew up not in poulsbo, but close enough that I went to high school there (would have gone to the Kingston high school but it hadn’t been built yet). a lot of my friends from growing up are now raising their children in the same place they were raised.

Sunday summer ferry traffic is notoriously bad.
