No this was excellent feedback. Yeah so about 1.4 miles to the high school. About the same as where we are now. And same 11 minute bike ride to the middle school for my youngest and is only there for one more semester until high school. It puts him a little closer to his climbing gym. Puts us closer to our church. There are a lot of homes in the area and a good chunk in the middle of the 2 places which is less than 2 miles from each other. So a 6-7 minute bike ride (they have e-bikes) I did ask them if it felt too far and they said no. That was a goal for both of us to be close. I did find one around the corner but that's too close. So if they find friends near us or him it wont be hard to get to friends from either location. My drive to work doesn't change much either. So thank you for the feedback on your experience. It is validating.

I like that you pointed out that it's more in how we handle it that makes more of a difference than the holidays and the actual separating. I can appreciate and get behind that.

Thank you for the perspective of not letting pettiness and winning stand in the way of something that could be a good move. I'm aware it's not helpful, but gosh is it hard when you add up the wounds. So thank you!

And has me pressing delete on the long winded text.

Gosh, I love this feedback. Thank you for taking the time to extract all that info and provide some solid feedback. Especially on the spite anchor me to a home. That's profound.

This is fascinating...and outside my SW niche...recommendations for a sex therapy cert?

PRN on psych units would probably take BSW ... if you want to stay in the field. Sometimes it's nice to have something that's not related to this field.

Run! As someone who lived in a low expectation marriage that is now ending. You can do this on your own. He's going to promise you thing do not believe until he has at least been active in therapy for sometime.

I'm actually a member! And that crossed my mind for a second but I wasn't sure where or how to connect and got going on something else before checking it out. I wasn't aware of the message board! Thank you! I will head there!

This is helpful! Thank you!

So I considered the blurred lines. I'd have to tweak my current process and documentation and redefine my role. To me it makes more sense to hire a therapist. You bring up a great point about the copays etc. and the pts have to agree. Right now I'm just " hey let's have you talk to the SW about this problem (usually money. We have a lot of charity and low income/AhCCCS patients) because we are medical and don't have time for this but want to help. " so I can get brought into the medical room informally. I do use soft therapy skills a majority of the time but I'm not doing formal therapy or assessments.

I'm so fascinated that I have not been able to find anyone who has billed. There is chronic care management. I really can't see them getting rid of a SW if they don't figure out this billing, but I can see them laying off to get someone cheaper in and well that has me in panick but hopefully we can work together to make it work.

Pretty much. She came on from Banner and said the LCSWs billed for services. But I have no idea if it was therapy for case management. I came on Aug 10. And I think she came on beginning of Oct end of September. So it's blind leading the blind and I can't find anyone in our system who is or has done it. I have cross posted and the few responses I have received fr oncology SW is no they don't bill. I have not had a sit down. She didn't come to my meet and greet 😀. I have so much other personal stuff and was quite happy with this job in many ways and this making everything feel unsettled. It sounds like in the past they have explored within my clinic and other settings but have never been able to make it work/fit.

It hurts the ego. I think my first post grad job I made $18/hr in a methadone clinic (that was after applying for a yr and half because I graduated right before Covid and 2 kids home from school). And I was pushing 40. It was humbling. And I complained all through it until my LCSW. So I went from making $38k to 104k in less than 5 years. (To be frank I'm probably about 14k overpaid and wary it could be taken soon due to changes at my clinic). You can do it! It sucks. It just does. And you can complain all you want, it's justified, but also find some acceptance in the reality right now helps until you have an opportunity to change it will help. I got 6 months experience and then found a position that would help with supervision and work on my MSW. Swallow your pride. Get something on your resume. Be humble and learn. Start looking at licensure. In 6 months you can probably move positions. Employment opportunities I think are going to shrink with changes in Medicaid in 2027. It's easier to get a job when you have a job. Just speaking from experience because I feel every bit of your post.

Thank you for the insight! That's interesting about the billing. I could see this turning to be more trouble than it’s worth but i guess that’s for them to figure out.

I found the CCM codes for BH covered through Medicare covers like $57 so pt covers an hour of work. I believe the doctors and staff have found value in me, but showing people who are interested in money and metrics will prove tricky. Ugh I was enjoying my little social work world I had built. I do appreciate at least hearing that so far the responses seem to be not billable.

13 years?! I tip my hat! That's basically what I was hired for. Address daily needs, make some referrals and do some follow up. I'm an island. Sole SW. And work all med onc, surg onc, med onc and breast program. And I loved it because it was autonomous and I could just do my thing without being micro managed. I really don't know how much SW will play into numbers. I think they have bigger problems than the SW. I think I have shown my value it's just now I feel like this management wants the value translated into money and metrics. But I'm going to have to just let it play out, I just wish I had a bit more frame of reference to provide a solid recommendation and plan. So I think that's my source of 🤪😬.

lol on the housing. It's rough out there right now.

Key_Distribution1775

I relate to this. But more as your husband since my husband sounded like you. I'd suggest therapy or couples therapy if you haven't. Is there is that much push and pull, it may not be him and it may be you who needs to work on some things.

Key_Distribution1775

Please do. That's what it's for.

You could be a financial counselor social worker. They exist. Or helping others through financial toxicity in medical field
