KobraThor

It doesn't interfere with anything. Only adds a third player at the Typewriter as the box to which you have to swap items with. It's a little janky since it doesn't work as deposits, but it's a lot better than the alternative

One of the best games I ever played and the best RE game for me.

The horror's tension was off the charts due to so many elements working great together, like Grace as a character, with her great animations, voice acting and personality helped by immersive graphics, designs and Dolby Atmos audio.

The action was delivering some great relief with Leon coming back with his badass attitude and charisma from RE4OG and not for long, as the dread of visiting Raccoon City's post-apocalyptic remains was making sure we never felt invincible, with zombies lying in ambush behind every corner, dark and tight places, as well as the heart rushing mortar runs and collapsed building fight from the windows to the bottom.

Director Koshi Nakanishi did an outstanding job by taking 30 years of well learnt lessons and implementing them perfectly. I keep repeating this because it cannot go understated. It's magic in a bottle and I truly hope it can be recreated at least a few times before it gets stale.

Short & sweet with an engaging story and a pacing that keeps up, highly replayable (played it 4 times in a row when it came out and will replay at least 2 more times with infinites), the most fun gameplay so far, the greatest audio implementation, 'grounded' zombies without many whacky mutations, REquiem is this year's GOTY for me.

KobraThor

Favorite: REquiem;

Great game: RE3R;

Good with mods: 4OG, 2OG, Village, RE2R, RE7;

Fine with mods: RE0, CV, RE3OG, RE1R, RE1OG;

Passable SP/Good MP: RE5, RE6, REv1, REv2;

Boring: RE4R.

Half sentient zombies are the creepiest, followed by regular zombies

If you're on PC and willing to play an older game, play the original with this fantastic remaster mod https://re4hd.com

It's a totally different game. The remake sucked the charisma and fun out of it with terrible gameplay changes and additions, cut voice lines, cut encounters, remixed levels, etc. The story is mostly the same, but I have a feeling you'll like the original more, as it stays true to the RE experience and because of that, connects a lot better to Requiem.

KobraThor

2R too... the lack of a zapping system that was done in 1998, let alone an advanced version of it fit for the modern age was such a big miss. The scenarios are nothing more than replaying the same game with a different character with too few changes to matter all while being incosistent and contradicting with each other.

At least 3R is a great game and a terrible remake (was done by a support studio), but 2R is a massive disappointment when you think they could've done the intersecting protagonists too and expand the city more, since it looks like false advertising from the menu.

KobraThor

The majority of people who love REquiem are not always online and/or on Reddit. They've voted with their wallets and at most left a comment here or there saying how much they loved the game.

It's the fastest selling RE game to date by a large margin and it's well deserved, because director Koshi Nakanishi truly took 30 years of well learnt lessons and implemented them perfectly.

KobraThor

Code Veronica remake is being done by the 2R and 4R directors, so depending how you liked those games, it may actually be butchered.

KobraThor

I'd say it's more experimentation that resulted in Jake than anything else. Details are kept vague on purpose, but Albert Wesker is a mad scientist with super powers. Don't think he'll go down the normal route to making children and was rather researching a cloning alternative as a backup to himself.

What with the blood memory transfer things, I kinda expect Jake to be transformed in to his father and just when he's about to kill our heroes, love somehow makes Jake fight back and retake his body after winning the father vs son battle in his head.

VC > 5 > LCS > SA > 4 > 3 > VCS (didn't play Chinatown Wars)

KobraThor

And well deserved as the pinnacle of the series.

Hope director Koshi Nakanishi gets more projects and learnt all the proper lessons from this massive success going forward.

KobraThor

I have played all the RE games on Steam + CVX and a little bit of Darkside Chronicles (had problems emulating it and stopped)

KobraThor

REquiem is one of the best games I ever played and the best RE game to date. Truly a culmination of 30 years of well learnt lessons that director Koshi Nakanishi implemented perfectly. I want at least 2-3 more games done in this fashion besides 3R.

KobraThor

Same here and I still have an Infinite Ammo Insanity run and once unlocked, another one with the infinite RPG

KobraThor

Playing as Zeno to find out how the T-Virus is slowly killing him through the syndrome, to him clearing the way in RC between all manner of mutated B.O.W.s and the BSAA, to finding and opening the ARK for more cleaning

KobraThor

Requiem is a 10/10. Truly a culmination of the best the RE franchise has to offer.

KobraThor

Leon in Requiem is a direct evolution of 4OG. He still has a sense of humor and badass attitude while in 4R he's been muted and sucked of all charisma along with the rest of the game except Luis and the Merchant.

Play 4OG with this fantastic fan remaster https://re4hd.com and forget about the remake until you're curious to see how they butchered the experience.

4OG also has another Ada scenario to enjoy that is non-canon.

KobraThor

Regardless if it's good news for REquiem, Alinea Analytics has no direct sources and operates on a purely speculative manner while all kinds of clickbaiting sites use their findings as fact and the people run off with it.

KobraThor

Director Koshi Nakanishi is golden right now, so unless the higher ups decide to make Revelations remakes mainline titles aka similar budget and attention, I don't see him being 'wasted' on it although I'd like a reimagination that removes the pace killing item finder mechanic and adds some depth to the combat.

KobraThor

I kinda see them going for it although if it were me, I'd keep 0 and 1 in my backpocket as the last to be remade for a hard reset of the franchise

KobraThor

Based on your pattern, M2 should be doing Outbreak after RE1RR in 2032, Rev1R in 2036 and Rev2R in 2040.

Team 1 would be busy with main title games. So if 2021 had 8 and 2026 had 9, then 2030 should be 10, 2034 should be 11 and 2038 should be RE12.

KobraThor

Yeah, wonder how Capcom even made it. Thought when they sold the live action rights to Constantin Film, it meant all kinds of live action, including shorts.

If anyone is ever going to make an adaptation of the games, that could even be canon as the cherry on top, it's Capcom themselves as proven by this lil' short hyping up Requiem. It's better than all of them.

KobraThor

It's not RE fans. It's Cregger fans astroturfing from his movie subReddits.

KobraThor

Buy RE3R now and at some point in the future when you're ready, give the OGs another try
