I think Americans are just too fucking stupid for this to work. And it only seems to be getting worse. Even when people are socially liberal, they STILL have absolutely no idea how the economy works, how taxes work etc. And they eat up this lie that crazy Democratic socialists are coming to tax you into poverty. So the ones that are "economic conservatives" fall for all the easy lies ALL THE TIME.

The taxes that Democrats raise (when they even do it, which isn't always) are on HIGH EARNERS. You literally don't have to worry about it until you start making many hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. And even then, the new taxes apply ONLY to the dollars you earn ABOVE the threshold, not every dollar you earn.

Most of the programs that the poor, working poor, lower middle class, middle class, and disabled like ARE SOCIALIST in nature. They are designed to help people that need help while asking people that need no help whatsoever to assist in paying for them. It's not radical, it's not crazy, and it's FUCKING POPULAR. It just has been weaponized through decades of obfuscation and laziness by our media. People are literally convinced to vote against their economic interests by either a faulty social argument or a faulty economic argument. Ask why the people with all the capital (money) would engineer it this way...

I hate the death penalty. Not because I think execution isn't a just punishment in certain cases, but because humans in positions of power prove almost daily that they do not have the integrity necessary to not abuse that power and condemn countless innocent people to death, let alone just make a mistake in good faith.

Killing even ONE innocent person is not worth the cost even if every other person executed was guilty. Prison for life is fine, and if the person is innocent they are alive and at least have some chance of freedom.

All of that said. What Tennessee has done takes it a step further. They have not only NOT executed this person, they have put her family in a terrible position now as well, AND they have actually made her a sympathetic person to some people where she wasn't before.

Is it cruel to kill innocent people with the death penalty? Or do you support that also?

Just trying to establish which state executions are okay with you, and how you decide. You outsource that to the courts like everyone else or do you conduct your own investigations and wax poetic on the cruelness?

I don't know how long it is going to take for people to figure it out, but the country gets, for the most part, what it votes for. People approved of this actively or passively by a 2-1 margin in 2024 by either voting directly for it or not casting a vote at all.

Denaturalization was literally in writing in Project 2025 as a policy goal. Project 2025 was widely pointed out to people over and over and over, and the country picked it anyway. They have implemented something like 2/3 of it already.

Until everyone or way, way more people get their heads out of their asses and actually show up on election day to OPPOSE this shit, it will not ever go away.

If the case isn't dismissed with prejudice, I don't see how they can keep the grand jury transcripts secret when its clear they are under immense pressure to keep charging him.

Since Tillis is retiring, money is the priority. He knows he will have to grift on the MAGA crowd after leaving office so he has to keep those morons happy.

I'm not down with most of the DSA stuff but "Vote Blue No Matter Who" literally means vote for every single Democrat over every single Republican.

It was fucking annoying to be told how stupid that was by many progressives for the last ten years, but that is what it means and that is what most moderate Dem party members will do even if the person on their ballot is DSA (or even "too left" for them) when the alternative is a Republican, including me, because that is the only way to defeat Republicans electorally.

There is going to be a lot of work to win the votes of the non-Dem but blue leaning independents in swing states though for those DSA style candidates and that is where those candidates should focus their effort. The party members will fall in line, but the independents need to actually be "won."

It's crazy. If all of these people after the 2016 primary had said "you know what? my candidate lost but I am going to support the Democratic nominee because Democrats are more aligned with everything I claim to stand for than the other option", we literally would not be here right now. No President Trump 1.0 or 2.0. A liberal Supreme Court. Student loan forgiveness. Increased minimum wage and on and on and on.

But that isn't what happened. AND not only did that not happen in 2016, they actually have now DOUBLED and TRIPLED down on it.

But now, all of the sudden, "vote blue no matter who" is what they want.

They will get if from me and most likely every other moderate Democrat in the country, but if the roles were reversed they would have mass protests planned against "Corporate Do Nothing Dems" for Sept and Oct.

They are not serious people.

I'm sure you will react rationally if moderates stage mass protests of every DSA candidate and shout "Commie!!!!" the way progressives did in the summer of 2024 for "Genocide Joe" and "Killer Kamala".
