It simply can’t all be applied.
This implies some of it has in fact been applied and that you have something in mind since you wrote it like this. Could you bring up some more recent or notable examples you were thinking of?
Kryomaani
And then you will very swiftly be kicked off the line and never invited again.
I got invited to the mod summit twice in the past but couldn't attend either time due to time constraints, afterwards I started asking uncomfortable questions on r/modsupport and being vocal about admins shitting the bed and never recieved another invite. Lol.

Moderators are a vital part of Reddit.
If you want to have an honest discussion, don't open with a sentence we 100% know you don't mean at all.
I’m here to recognize it
If you recognize it, then resign. Go put in your 30 days notice and urge your colleagues to do so too if you mean it. But you don't mean it.
You, the admins, have lied to us, threatened us, made up new rules on the spot to remove us, forced us to damage our communities and go against the wishes of our users, made our volunteer work keeping your site afloat more difficult for no reason, ignored the need of disable people, and you continue to do so. There is no trust left here because you've yourself burned it all away. Walk away and let someone who truly cares try to pick up the pieces of everything you broke, because you cannot do it and nothing in the world will change that. If you can only post manipulative PR BS, get off the line and get us an actual human to talk to.
Dear investors of Reddit: The current administration is both incompetent and malicious. If you want Reddit as a company to be open to discussing the future of the site with us moderators and users, you need to change out your admins.
Kryomaani
You need to 100% record any interaction with Reddit, whether it be a voice call or text. Check local laws to make sure you're doing it right, for example if they require disclosing the recording to the other party. Also, make copies and/or screenshots of any text-based discussions you have on Reddit and store these outside of Reddit: Remember that admins can edit or delete anything by anyone on Reddit (and in past have) or block your account from accessing your previous messages at any point in time.
Working with a hostile business entity 101, always CYA: Cover Your Ass.
Kryomaani
Oh and if you want to shit a few more bricks, you could also reveal who messaged you "as subreddit" by blocking the entire mod team and then unblocking them one by one and trying to reply to the message, as Reddit made it so you cannot reply to people you've blocked and that worked even for modmail.
Our mod team confirmed the bug still existed well over a year after we informed Reddit of it the first time. And to be perfectly honest, we haven't tested it has been fixed at all.
Never assume "as subreddit" protects your identity. Bugs relating to it are the lowest possible priority to Reddit.
Kryomaani
Yes. Also worth noting that on modmail side, all messages are non-editable and non-deletable. Modmail is a permanent record, one that any new scabs will gain full access to.
I do understand why it's that way from the perspective of accountability and transparency within the mod team, but it is not without its issues. It's not impossible to imagine a new moderator not knowing this or an old moderator slipping up and posting something they might not want to be up there forever, and obviously users will generally have no warning that anything they send in will be there permanently.
Of course you can never expect to be able to delete sent messages on the recieving end, but at least with DMs you can generally expect that only the reciever will be privy to them and that some other completely unrelated 3rd party isn't some time later going to gain access to them without asking or informing you. But that's not the case with modmail. (Nor is it apparently with Reddit group chats due to how badly Reddit manages your data, but that's a whole other can of worms.) If you ever reply to a green name (whether it be the subreddit or a singular mod), that reply will go into modmail and it will be readable by anyone who gains moderator rights on that sub at any later point in time and there's no warning about this.
This is going to be especially disastrous on some subs that might've used modmail to verify user identities, for example for purposes of AMAs, secret santas, etc. or maybe the mods exchanged some contact info like phone numbers to keep in contact outside of Reddit. Any of those modmails could be huge honeypots of PII.

You're being scammed, initiate a chargeback.

It's worth remembering that the persons using the /u/ModCodeOfConduct account to threaten and harass us are the same people who post the cuddly "oopsie woopsie, we will forward this to the right team, thank you very very much" -comments even on this sub. The account exists solely so that they can avoid their antagonistic actions associated with them personally and to pretend that the "other" admins are one your side.
There are no "good" or "bad" sides of admins, they're all the same people. Do not fall for their attempt at one person putting on a good cop, bad cop show using a sockpuppet as the bad cop.
Kryomaani
Reddit and its admins have dropped the charade of pretending to care for the mods and communities and have decided to just burn all the bridges. They know that not even the most gullible of us would mistake those threads and newsletters for caring after the amount of lies, threats and blackmail they have sent our way recently. They've made it abundantly clear they only care for ad revenue and hosting a weekly thread does not increase revenue.
Kryomaani
Eipä oikeastaan. Jotkut subit ovat kokeilleet, Reddit on palauttanut kaikki takaisin. Reddit on palauttanut myös käyttäjien itsensä massapoistamia omia kommenttejaan kysymättä heiltä mitään. Eli turha kuvitella että tuo delete-nappi omien kommenttiesi alla tarkoittaa mitään, Reddit voi halutessaan perua senkin.
Kryomaani
Paitsi sillä vitun sekunnilla kun valta uhkaa siirtyä pois.
Mua ei henkilökohtaisesti kiinnosta moderoinnissa lainkaan valta enkä omien kokemuksieni pohjalta sanoisi että ketään muutakaan aktiivista modea jonka touhuja täällä olen seurannut, vaan tässä osittaisessa avautumisessa on pointtina se, että se on ainut tapa jolla protestia voidaan edes jossain muodossa jatkaa.
Ottakoot oikeudet pois, Redditin uppoavan laivan pulpahtelut eivät vaikuta yöuniini. Se on ihan ok endgame, sillä on selvää että jossain kohtaa Redditillä tulee raja vastaan ja meidät poistetaan suoraan tai meiltä viedään loputkin työkalut protestoida millään mielekkäällä tavalla eikä meno muutu mitenkään. Sinä päivänä luovun modeoikeuksista ihan itse ja vapaaehtoisesti. Tämän nykyisenkaltaisen Redditin johdon alla en tule enää moderoimaan.
Kryomaani
18.6. Adminit laittoivat meille viestiä:
Hi everyone,
We are aware that you have chosen to close your community at this time. We are reaching out to find out if any moderators currently on the mod team would be willing to take steps to reopen the community. Subreddits exist for the benefit of the community of users who come to them for support and belonging and in the end, moderators are stewards of these spaces and in a position of trust. Your users rely on your community for information, support, entertainment, and finding connection with others who have similar interests. The ability to find and make these connections is incredibly important to many people and ensuring that active communities are able to remain stable and active (and open) is very important.
Our goal here is to work with the existing mod team to find a path forward and make sure your subreddit is usable for the community which makes its home here. If you are not able or willing to reopen and maintain the community please let us know.
Ainut vastaus 19.6. kuului:
You are correct in that the subreddit should be made open to users.
Closing off a community entirely from everyone on the internet who may need it now or in the future isn't something that has been allowed for some time on reddit. This is a public resource that is used by many people, often who never comment or engage but still visit to find information.
Hi all,
The last time we messaged you, you were still discussing your mod team’s plans to re-open your community, had decided to close your community indefinitely, or had not responded to us. Per Rule 4 of the Moderator Code of Conduct, moderators are required to be active and engaged within their communities. Given this, we encourage you to reopen. Please let us know within the next 48 hours if you plan on re-opening.
Community "polling" does not provide justification to continue violating the Moderator Code of Conduct by camping on this community. Per your requested timeline, the subreddit has 27 hours to reopen for its 284k members before further actions are taken.
Tällä kertaa uhkaus on varsin selväsanainen. Subi oli pakko avata tänään n. keskiyöhön Suomen aikaa mennessä tai moderaatiotiimi olisi poistettu kokonaisuudessaan ja subi avattu väkisin, kuten lukuisissa /r/modcoord:in puolella luetelluissa esimerkeissä on käynyt. Tällainen rajoitettu avautuminen on käytännössä ainoita keinoja jatkaa protestia.
r/Suomi-subin kaipaajille suosittelen jatkoja sopulista löytyvästä vastaavasta Suomi-kanavasta. En nyt viitsi linkkiä laittaa kun Reddit on aika avokätisesti jaellut banaaneja muiden palvelujen mainostamisesta, mutta vaikkapa "sopuli lemmy":llä löytää perille googlen kautta.
Kryomaani
We've managed to get one reply
that is even more explicitly threatening than the original message, which was the same OP has posted.
Kryomaani
You were joking but this is quite literally what they are doing. We asked them several questions and mentioned (again) that our users want us to black out, and this
is literally their reply:
Community "polling" does not provide justification to continue violating the Moderator Code of Conduct by camping on this community. Per your requested timeline, the subreddit has 27 hours to reopen for its 284k members before further actions are taken.
It's worth noting that the original message (same as OP's) only asked us to inform them on our plans within 48 hours, not specifically open the sub:
-- Please let us know within the next 48 hours if you plan on re-opening.
Kryomaani
I can confirm I'm in the same situation. All of my recent modsupport comments stay on 1 karma and 0 replies and cannot be found using incognito mode. You can find them on my profile but not by going to those threads on modsupport.
This is a new low for the admins.
Kryomaani
Testing, on r/modsupport all of my comments get removed immediately but my profile is accessible
Kryomaani
I'm getting all of my comments on this sub removed, whether they mention this individual or not. It seems they have taken new steps to punish anyone who took part in the blackout. Though I doubt you'll see even this.
Kryomaani
You are destroying relationships and trust that took you years to build
What relationships, what trust? The admins have never been on our side, at most merely tolerating we exist. They have not made a single effort to build a community, that's always all been on the moderators, and most importantly, the users. Never has anyone recieved a message from a red username with giddy anticipation but nothing but dread. Let's not delude ourselves that the status quo before Reddit's latest meltdown was any good either.
It’s not too late to try a more conventional approach.
Yes it is. You don't lie to us, threaten us, ban us, take away our communities all the while ignoring any and all prior rules and practices you've had in place for years. Nothing short of full removal of the current CEO and admin team and replacement with someone even remotely willing to work with the users could see us going back.
My folks used to grow apple trees and those get some nasty diseases at times. When that happens, you don't keep picking off the brown leaves one by one wishing that cures the tree, because you know the disease goes down to the root. Doesn't matter if it's the prettiest, oldest, largest, most bountiful, your most belowed tree in the orchard, you dig it up root and all and you even throw away the dirt it grew in, because that's the only way you can ever again grow a healthy tree in that same spot.
Internet communities are a lot like apple trees.
Kryomaani
Spez made it pretty clear Christian wasn't worth working with. It doesn't matter whether or not you agree. It's a contract negotiation between two companies.
You don't get to pretend Spez was the side acting professional in this matter when he's the one who publicly lied that Christian had threatened Reddit. The only reason Christian ever released the phonecall recording was because Spez was publicly slandering him and it was the only way to prove none of that was true. Newsflash: It's not a witch hunt, it's the consequences of a CEO lying to further his own goals.
Kryomaani
At least every deletion leaves a line in the moderation log. It should be fairly trivial to work your way backwards through it undoing the actions until a certain desired point in time. So yes, barring any utterly terrible practices in handling transactional data we're not aware of, it should be fairly trivial to undo any such mass deletion.
Kryomaani
We are not breaking Reddit's rules, if anything, we are enforcing them by doing this. You can find this on top of Reddit's content policy:
Every community on Reddit is defined by its users. Some of these users help manage the community as moderators. The culture of each community is shaped explicitly, by the community rules enforced by moderators, and implicitly, by the upvotes, downvotes, and discussions of its community members. Please abide by the rules of communities in which you participate and do not interfere with those in which you are not a member.
If we see different Reddit guidelines in disagreement, we will default to following the Content Policy as it's clearly been the one enforced most consistently.
Kryomaani
Yes, let's just disregard the past 17 years the oldest communities have existed on Reddit and say that mods are the literal devil for protesting the past week.
Kryomaani
It's incredibly telling of the state of Reddit's administration that you had to dig up a dormant kitchen sink account to make this comment instead of just using your own community admin account and standing behind your own words.
Not only that, but I have not heard a more disingenuous take on the protests than this. You know it's not people "no longer interested in moderating" but you yourself taking our moderation tools away and killing any trust and communication between mods and admins with the thousand broken promises and lies you've told.
