Thanks! I'd given up on my first playthrough and on my second am starting to have that same problem, but earlier on. So it must be that mindset I need to switch.

More villagers is probably my problem too. Would you say quantity over quality in the first stages? I think I got a bottleneck due to slow production but not having enough workforce. I kept waiting till I could recruit someone "good", but I can't liberate those villages without a big enough army. And so the cycle continues.

Shepherd/Sheppard/etc is another one I see with many variations.

I try to look for differences in the shoes/boots to help remind them, I've seen some with such subtle differences that even I have to double check which foot goes where. "Bluey goes on the outside of your feet so she can watch you play" or something like that, and I pat the relevant part of their foot so they know what I'm talking about. If there's no difference to the outside designs of the shoe I resort to showing them the scratchy part of the velcro and how that goes on the outside of your feet.

I had a relative who worked at a video game rental store. I guess management decided to take this game off the shelves, maybe it wasn't being rented enough? And they picked it up for me and my siblings, thought we'd like it. So the first I'd heard of it was when it was handed to us. I'm really glad we had that good fortune, it's become one of our favourites and we still quote it occasionally.
