What an excellent response to all this, not that I'd expect less from Skizz.

I've said before, I read all the context and think Twitter completely overblew the situation, but I do think that Skizz does put his foot in his mouth a little bit sometimes (we all do, but often with less people watching and not while being recorded). I love that he owned up to it, even challenged his own beliefs on ableism and, whether he was ablest or not, is continuing to learn and improve. I say this as a disabled person.

I also like that he owned up to forgetting to set the filters in his comments and that he fixed that before even making this post, and is retroactively going back to remove bigotry from the comments in his past videos. We can all rejoice that Skizz has finally read his comments. 😂

An insensitive joke about his late father, who he misses dearly since his passing, who happened to be in a wheelchair. Skizz was very, very clear about the context of his words in this matter.

My father was a sweet man and I miss him very very much. The context to the clip was that while I would do my best to clean up my Dad’s place before and after we would go to breakfast, there was only so much I could do. The conditions he was living in were heart breaking. I don’t recall how Scar and I got on the topic but I was just hanging with my friend and talking about real stuff. I referenced my poor father as a giant germ and that simply was not fair to him. It wasn’t even meant to be a dig, it was me softening the sadness I felt for him with humor. Hilarious I know. I can’t really properly describe the awful feeling that conjured up in my heart when I saw that clip but I can tell you it’s shame you could cut with a knife. Real, gut wrenching shame. My Dad and I always joked about anything and everything, even his living conditions. I guess it’s how we managed. In any case, Scar joked back “Not everybody in a wheel chair is dirty.” I know he was joking and I know he knows I wasn’t saying that, but that clip, especially out of context could definitely be misunderstood. So if there is ANYONE out there who is wheelchair bound and was offended by this, then Oh My God please understand how so genuinely sorry I am for that.

Not buying US liquor was trivially easy, it's not even good.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

If Worm can't act like an adult, even if he shows really cool tech off, he shouldn't be allowed to participate. All the controversy, disrespect, and drama in TMC needs to stop ffs. (As far as "his post isn't interesting he's just deleting stuff", I mean, just downvote it and move on. If it breaks the rules, report it.)

Worm is a great redstoner and I'd have so much respect for him, except when he goes off the rails and brings in the toxicity. Seeing it honestly makes me a little sick.

Let's not pretend Worm is the only example of this though. TMC has so many toxic users, and we all know who they are. Stealing tech to present as their own, gatekeeping, god complexes, and just putting other users down, bitching about the developers... Can we just play the game?

Thanks! Reported it.

A substack article that uses emotive language rather than facts to make an argument. Fantastic.

As much as I hate the guy and hate insider trading, this is a pretty sensational headline given his full statement.

Yes, every the families of every politician in every country participate in some form of insider trading.

This isn't anything unique to Trump (at least in the way he describes it in the full quote).

Depends on what the mouse has been eating. It could have poisoned itself rummaging through storage and you probably wouldn't want your cat to eat it.

There's even a line of shadows going down the dresser that's not on the mirror. I think this is just an edited image.

Kvothealar

I get the same.

He's actually doubling down on this? Jesus Christ.

What is the name of the gas? Just "Green tear gas?"

I've worked with partners over stuff like this before. No use one of us paying interest on something that I could just float the money their way and they float it back over a few months.

But the thing was ( looking at you /u/seraphinovae ) , we both sat down, talked like adults, kept records of what was paid back, and made a mature financial decision together. It wasn't done unilaterally.

Let things cool off and chat about it. Ultimately, you have to respect another person's financial choices even if they insist on paying interest. It's basically just consent, you need it first.

It sounds like you don't actually know what immunotherapy is. Or you're just trolling.

Fuck /u/Spez and fuck Reddit.

Thank you for this.

Seconding this.

I saw this thread and some of the ones linked within and I was shocked. They referenced a patron-exclusive comic and claimed it was some really horrible thing. So, rather than just believing them I went and looked up the comic myself.

They're completely out to lunch!! What they're saying about you is clearly untrue and they have to know this. I wish people would just spend 30 seconds f**king fact checking these losers rather than just believing the things they're saying.

People suck, man. I'm glad that something positive came out of this for you.

Despite everything people complain about: trans people are underrepresented in the Olympics compared to the size of their demographic.

I have no idea who this guy is outside of his dog abuse clips, but fuck him.

Can someone tell me, with numbers, how this is possible?

Those appear to be four small fan blades. My brain can't comprehend how fast those blades would need to turn to actually generate that much kinetic energy.

  • The drone weighs 0.490 kg.
  • 124 mph = 55.5 m/s

So it has 1/2 * m * v^2 = 755 J of kinetic energy, which works out to about 10 mAh on it's 22.2V battery pack, which is 1/60th of the total capacity of 600 mAh. So not impossible... But being able to output that much thrust and use that much energy so quickly is mind-boggling, you're using that much energy in one second, and that's setting aside how much you're losing to air resistance and heating of motors, which is probably substantial.
