SM players out here being so reasonable now that their codex is under scrutiny. I imagine many of those insisting that all SM stuff is fine made some reactionary comments about other factions recently...

Laruae

Ironic, isn't it.

Laruae

I mean, Angron in the Web store has literal striation lines because they printed it for their painter to paint.

Fairly sure you can indeed get to GW quality but it is rarer for sure.

Laruae

The secret is that most detachments in 11th are design to NOT broadly help your whole faction.

Orks has one detachment that "Broadly helps Orks" and it's 3DP.

Why are we pretending that it's remotely okay for there to be a 1DP detachment that "broadly" helps anyone?

Laruae

It kinda is though.

It's a large amount of negatives to usage of the internet in order to maaaaybe keep kids from seeing something that they WILL find a way to see.

Laruae

I believe that forcing ID and constant surveillance is the greater of the two evils.

The kids will be fine.

Laruae

The issue that people are having is that he isn't drawing recognizable characters. They never had the brick nose or the standard idgaf face hea giving some of them.

Idgaf if he redraws Johnathan in think style but please make him recognizable

Laruae

No, the Christians are the ones passing laws that force their religious morals on others.

Laruae

Yes. I understand that. But if the claim is that he doesn't want to revisit it, then don't draw the old ones.

Or if he does, draw them so they are at least recognizable.

Laruae

Then why is he drawing the old characters, fml.

At least give them the effort current Jojolands gets. This drawing has the exact same brick nose as Dio did in the recent art.

Laruae

Yeah, those are there to tell you who it is, since the face can't do that.

This Kita literally has the same nose as Dio did previously

Laruae

Absolutely. The ability to bank unlimited secondaries was a mistake IMO.

Laruae

Absolutely.

Laruae

Eh, I just meant that it's not helping.

I did try and list that last.

I suppose I could have discussed the lack of activations before that to emphasize that he's the least of the problems.

Laruae

What units do you think need to go down for Ghaz to become "OP"?

Tankbustas are already 160pts. Any more and they'll literally never see the light of day. At most lists are taking 1 unit of them.

Also, can't something be auto-take because it performs a key function that is core to your army operating or provides functionality that is highly important?

Laruae

And at will Precision, Lethal Hits, or Sustained based on their Doctrine.

And then you can stack the Terminator detachment.

And then there's leaders and supports and enhancements.

Laruae

I uh don't think any SM sub-faction has a book to themselves right now. Just sayin'.

Laruae

I don't disagree.

But this is GW we're talking about.

Plenty of money, none of it to design actually good or fast rules.

Or for patch notes it seems...

Laruae

SoT are basically one of the core tools for the army and the most recent (and many preceding) price hikes have made them very expensive.

Add in price increases for Rubrics and another nerf to the Defiler.

They also get fairly countered by Dark Angels since Lion is saving insanely well against PSYKER attacks.

From what I've heard many TSons players feel like they're lacking enough pieces to really do enough work to score and win.

Laruae

DW just needs their termis to only get 1 plasma at 5 man and give more at 10 man. That then limits them to a single squad. It's still strong as all hell, but at least it's limited.

I'd also suggest maybe a points increase if they're going to have so much rule stacking.

Laruae

100%. I remember doing something similar when Drukhari were so insane with their liquifiers.

Laruae

I mean, that is an actual consideration for GW, since that's a fair number of players. It takes quite a few games to truly know the rules well.

But they are incidentally (or purposefully) killing Hordes. It even disadvantages any larger unit sizes at all since Blast + Cleave get so insanely strong if you let it swing into 10,15,20 models. And that gets worse with say, Precision Cleave weapons.

Laruae

Having to explain this to a huge chunk (but still minority) of the player base is kinda weird and frustrating.

There's also a fair few instances of BCP lists being labeled as say, SM despite technically being BT or BA since they didn't bring any sub-faction specific units or take one of the sub-faction specific detachments which creates false positives.

Laruae

No, but as best I can tell, 11th is fighting the ghost of "game takes too long".

Tooons of rules to speed up the game.

Blast and Cleave speed up the game by just encouraging you to pick up that 20 man block because it was dead the moment the blast/cleave unit activated 90% of the time.

Laruae

You dropped this: -> /s

P.S. Do you still think Ghaz is broken? You specifically stated he was awhile ago. I remembered your username and wanted to see if you still believe the same. I don't think he's really proven to be an issue. Especially with all they handed out to SM Primarchs...
