They’re trying to discourage generic omnis and also omnis in general since they’re much stronger in this format for several reasons

1. They’re usually only a one of, so a lot of players are willing to put points into it since you only need one copy
2. Decks are weaker overall with less gas, which makes omnis far more punishing and powerful — not to mention handtraps costing points so stopping Omnis from existing becomes more difficult.

Generic Omnis like Baronne and Varudas are thus far more powerful than usual because any deck can access them easily — thus more expensive.

So yeah, they’re bad in the sense that they’re very expensive.
