Andrew Tate: Rents supercars and hires sex workers for photo ops, runs a pyramid scheme for "training courses" for teenage boys, traffics little girls. Is in prison.

John Krasinski: Is married to Emily Blunt, which he finds unbelievable and talks about in adorable ways in interviews, raising two children. Seems chill.

I have resting bitch face and an intimidating aura, but I promise I'm nice.

--I tend to trust a single-location resturant more if they're both proud and blunt. Best places I've ever eaten had the philosophy of "Our food is good and we damn well know it, what're you having?"

Best of luck, fellow Cornhusker.

I personally go by a modified Darwin Award: If you don't reproduce or someone saner can raise/fix your kids, either works. Your average anti-vaxxer isn't faulty at a genetic level in terms of inheritable mental traits, they're sometimes on paper, smart people with advanced degrees. They're culturally poisoned. Education can fix that, administered early.

Late-Assignment8482

I really don't understand how this man is president of such a big country. I mean, doesn't this show how stupid and narrow-minded American voters are?

Second sentence answers the first...

I think it's just Findom/Humiliation Kink at that point. If you believe what he's selling, you want to.

Late-Assignment8482

Well, shit. Lucky for him UPS is pretty well-unionized, so he's not "insert local contractor" like FedEx is and probably there's some mechanism for paying that...then built into prices.

Amazon Delivery probably just makes their drivers pay on a "we'll reimburse if you meet metrics" basis.

Late-Assignment8482

Legit a solid channel, IMHO. Some things make a lot more sense when explained by someone who grew up there. We all have little weird things that we learned as kids and never reailzed we learned. Also she's a novelist so she presents/speaks clearly.

What people don't understand is that once your house is paid off, it can't catch on fire, you don't need police, you don't need running water or sewers, public schools suddenly cost nothing to run, and you don't need an ambulance to come if you call 911.

I own my laptop outright. I still pay for the electricity to charge it. My car is paid off and yet gas isn't free.

Curious!

Nolan likes to have well-known casts. The Odyssey is an epic, so he needed a lot of them. Lupita Nyong'o is a striking woman, and sadly, there's been a "race to the mean" for lots of blonde actresses--many actresses dyeing blonde to begin with--so for "looks distinct from all women around her and has the bone structure and posture to pull off regal" gets to be a real short list.

I wouldn't get 100% on telling Margot Robbie and Samara Weaving apart ten times in a row, but I could get Viola Davis and Whitney Houston and Halle Berry and Lupita and Zoe Seldana, no issue. They're simply more varied people, all obviously attractive though.

Ironically, another option who is blonde would be Hunter Schafer--very distinct, very "elven" face--something tells me the chuds wouldn't like that.

The Inquisition finds that such beliefs as "Transphobia" are heretical and divide the loyal subjects with false doctrines!

The Irish Mafia, they called them. Kenneth O'Donnell, Larry O'Brien, David Powers. All of them Irish-American Bostonians (like JFK himself). And as capsaicin points out, all of them well-educated men with actual jobs that weren't made up (Appointments Secretary, Director of Legislative Affairs, etc.) rather than "son in law skimming billions".

She’s a counselor at a summer camp in a 1970s horror flick.

Late-Assignment8482

That's the trouble with using bluffs that only an idiot would believe on the current government. They might believe you.

What's wild is that Fox News creates an organic botnet of humans since so many times, whatever the Red Hatters are blathering about on a given day was on Fox News the day before. "Here's what you think now."

Not a thought they had, as people. Not functionally different from an AI directing a stolen iPhone stacked in a rack in Belarus, aggressively defending some nonsense Russian talking point...but sadder.

Late-Assignment8482

Christians who support this need a bucket of cold water to the face ("bucket of water"...for legal reasons). If, as usual, they need a reason that has nothing to do with real world morality or human beings, just their book...Nazareth is in the West Bank. They'd be doing it to Him.

Unless Nana was there at the Haymarket Affair, she didn't. Unionized Boomers fought for different things since the 40 hour workweek, no child labor and health insurance were already commonly secured.

You’ve activated my trap card! I get to share cool facts! MWAHAHAH!

  • Lynn Conway revolutionized how microchips were designed.
  • Mary Ann Horton developed ‘uuencode’ which was the first way to attach binary files to emails.
  • Audrey Tang is a core contributor to the Perl programming language. (Not for nothing but Perl was key in the human genome project so literally lifesaving work.)
  • Danielle Bunten Berry developed MULE which was one of the early multiplayer games that defined how social interactions between players worked.

Google is free. Wikipedia is an unprecedented pool of knowledge at your fingertips.

History isn’t on your side here. No matter your feelings, the fact is trans people go back AT LEAST to ancient Mesopotamia--that's 4500 years--with specifically gender nonconformist orders of priests in the Goddess Innana’s service) (Innana’s domains were fertility, sex, war, political power and more).

The first mention of femboys is from ancient Egypt. Pharaoh Ptahhotep was going through it, and warned his heirs in Maxim 31 about how he was so thirsty for them.

They been part of Western Civilization and civilization generally ever since.

Kaineus transitioned female to male in Greek myth, as did Iphis. Unlike Actaeon, Sipriotes passed his saving throw after stumbling on a bathing Artemis and was changed into a woman...rather than being ripped apart by hunting dogs. Pro gamer move.

Trans folks aren’t new, in real life or religious texts. They literally predate the Judeo-Christian tradition. Certainly the written element with the Torah being codified after 500 BCE.

What was invented in the 2010s was the reuse of racist anti-black talking points about public bathrooms.

That’s not as much of a problem, actually. Amazon runs AND owns Amazon.com but they only run MyMadeUpCompany.com website and email. MMUC isn’t their intellectual property, Amazon is.

If Amazon runs my company’s email that’s because I’ve got a contract saying they’ll give me X server capacity for Y, and one of the terms is Don’t Snoop.

The original hurdle cloud hosting had to clear is “but can I trust you?” so it’s not a knob they’ll touch unless they’re willing to risk customers stampeding to other hosters (Google, Oracle, others).

They’re running a shipping company.

If they start getting caught poking around in customer’s mail, bad for business. Not worth the hit to mess with some small creators.

Late-Assignment8482

Two reasons:

• Voter fraud is functionally non-existent - meta studies looking at millions of votes nationwide find two-digit incidences of fraud, one and two here and there, nowhere close to affecting outcomes. The vast majority of those are prosecuted and convicted.

• The implementation shows the real purpose. If you did this in a way where you sent out notice to voters saying "hey, you need an ID to vote now, here's how to get one free, with multiple approaches that allow for folks not near an office and disabled people", it'd be one thing. Put in the requirement but ALSO make meeting that requirement easier.

That makes it neutral.

It's never been "showing an ID to vote, no big deal" when it's been implemented.

It's been more like "show these subset of government IDs, only, not all forms". Then they disqualify student IDs at public colleges (students vote liberal), close a bunch of DMV offices in majority poor or majority black/brown places (those groups vote liberal), and do nothing to make getting an ID easier for folks who work and take the bus (DMVs closing early).

Almost the entire voter registration system in America at this point is right-wing voter suppression. Modern democracies in functioning countries--that is, not the US--mostly automatically register to vote. The government knows who's turned 18, they have birth certificates and so on. Where photo ID is needed, they have national ID or some other form of free, convenient-to-get ID. Voting by mail is allowed, voting day is a holiday, etc. etc. etc. to make it easy.

America does the opposite because one party realized it can't win a fair election where the entire eligible voting base had a shot to vote.

chooses to allow it - As soon as they think it might be politically useful to sacrifice him, they will. And they'll likely think that as soon as they realize calling in the military and just nuking the Twin Cities isn't a political winner. Minnesotans are staying strong and the administration is rapidly running out of things they can actually do without losing control--the Insurrection Act doesn't declare martial law or end elections. It turns the military into law enforcement enforcing federal law. Now they're not facing 600 outnumbered cops but 13,000 Minnesota National Guard members who absolutely outgun them, are there to protect citizens, and are far better trained. Maybe a curfew becomes easier. Maybe folks stop standing on their porches with guns all day. But the military isn't going to hold old ladies down and pepper spray them for being mouthy.

An orderly, by-the-books investigation done with rules of engagement isn't what Stephen Miller wants. It doesn't get him hard.

The crazier the order issued, the less likely it's followed. "Escort these agents to [address]" is likely to be followed but "open fire on unarmed crowd because they called Greg Bovino short" isn't as it's so comically invalid.

People want Ross prosecuted. The only escalation Stephen Miller (actually the president in this case) has left is the Insurrection Act. Protecting one asshole isn't worth the risk of an even deeper Democratic majority in 2027, even more committed to ending ICE.

Extra spikes are being glued onto the dildo of consequences.

Late-Assignment8482

"antagonizing them has consequences"

I'm treating this as legit confusion on your part, since you're probably not part of ICE (or if so, haven't been through training yet).

Objectively, no. Legally, no. It does not. Assaulting or restraining the officers from entering a building is potentially criminal. (Depends if the officers are outside bounds).

Calling them names, blowing whistles, videotaping them, asking questions like "do you have a warrant?" "what's your badge number?" "why are you wearing a mask?" "exactly how long has your family been marrying sisters?" is all legally protected.

Making fun of them for being high-school dropouts suffering from terminal smallcox who are big mad women and black folks got more book learnin' than them is legally protected speech.

18 U.S. Code § 111 - Assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers or employees

(a) In General.—Whoever—

(1)

forcibly assaults, resists, opposes, impedes, intimidates, or interferes with any person designated in section 1114 of this title while engaged in or on account of the performance of official duties; or

f-o-r-c-i-b-l-y

not "my fee fees are hurt because my gun doesn't make people scared of me". If that's assaulting, they're too fragile to be outside without a grownup.

These chuckleheads are looking at a wipeout and now they’re going to run on their thug’s crimes in the midterms. They’re that separated from reality.
