I was kinda in the mood for something disturbing and looked up "disturbing books" and found out the author was local to me so I popped on the audio book on YouTube. One of the first scenes is a woman (the main character) being finger blasted by a rotting "corpse" (he was technically alive but was making the conscious choice to experience advanced decomposition)

I once had a colony without any animals and no psychopaths to butcher the bodies. So I made a stone room with a stone door, put all the bodies in there with a unit of chemfuel to ensure the heat would only intensify, took an impid and spat flames into the room and had him scram as fast as possible out of there

The amount of privacy violations, political manipulation, environmental exploitation, human exploitation, censorship of the masses, enshittification, child sexual abuse and it facilitation, and generally lack of a spine to stand up for what's right in spite of profits even when others could get hurt or are actively suffering is unacceptable.

They do all of this without our consent and so I consume their product without their consent. I have kids and am the breadwinner, so protesting and activism is out of the question for me, I have a social disorder and don't don't attend church so running for local office is out where I live, unionizing is... well... I live in Louisiana, this is one of the few things I can actually do in protest besides basic boycotts. That being said, the savings are indeed a factor, though to be clear, the same people described above are why I'm finding the savings are required rather than pleasant

I personally feel that the default is bi but I could be bi-ased. Abrahamic religions and their cultural spread has put a couple of fingers on the scale from the modern view point to say the least. If we look at cultures prior to Abrahamic creep, there are countless interpretations of a "default sexual orientation." Famously the Greeks, of course, but also the Norse seemed very chill with Loki's sexual and gender exploits. I believe there is a Chinese story of a noble cutting off a sleeve of his shirt so as not to disturb his "friend" sleeping.

Those examples are just examining human culture for a default, but since post is about genetics, any zoologist will tell you that same sex pairing and mating displays are far from rare.

Yeah, I tried giving LitRPGs a try after finishing the series because I quite enjoyed the series so far (I hope I don't get down vote bombed, I'm aware I seem to be in the minority in this thread) but I think dcc is an exception for me. I really could not get into them. Outside of the very specific scenario that puts dcc in to the genre, the series that I tried felt like the "achievements" and "stats" and stuff felt rather clunky. I had to drop them because it straight up didn't feel like a natural dynamic in the world

There's an acoustic cover by a guy named Obadiah Parker that makes the first half of the lyrics sound as somber as they really are. Only issue I have with that cover is it leaves out the part of the song that calls out the audience for not listening to the lyrics which I feel is a necessary part of the song for the second half to make sense because I interpret the second half a the singer succumbing to a sense of defeatism and giving the audience a more generic dance-focused pop song because it's easier. Much like how earlier in the song it's easier to stay in a relationship that makes you unhappy than to stir the pot
