What a bare minimum statement. Like, they acknowledge that they used slave labour but make sure to point out it was the SS who were the ones treating them terribly and they “admitted their links with the Nazi regime”, wow, so brave to admit the most obvious facts.
If they literally included two sentences, “The Mercedes Benz group acknowledges that this is an incredibly shameful part of our company history. We will never try to cover up our collaboration with the Nazi regime and will continue to try to atone for them with our future actions” they would look so much better.

I don’t know much about Moldova, but the Soviet Union violently suppressed the rights of eastern European nations under their influence and/or control. They may have been better than literal Nazis, but there wasn’t a shortage of soldiers pointing their guns at civilians.
