That doesn't say hardly anything about how much the wealthy pay in taxes.

LegitosaurusRex

So? If people don't like the income cutoffs the next time around, they can vote it down still.

LegitosaurusRex

Haven’t heard of the infinite monkeys theorem, huh?

LegitosaurusRex

Whatever strategy you had, stick with it

Bad advice if the strategy is the type that’s profitable most of the time, but every once in a while you lose everything.

LegitosaurusRex

Yeah, best Apple can do is make it less profitable for everyone involved.

LegitosaurusRex

A handful of short runs in an inning shouldn't exhaust any professional baseball player, lol.

LegitosaurusRex

No, if you're smart you invest it and it becomes $400k in 20 years.

LegitosaurusRex

It's not as simple, but it's still what's being done. They just have to solder the chips from broken legitimate parts in the place of the stolen parts' chips.

LegitosaurusRex

Google says 30% of its value.

LegitosaurusRex

Hardened for the radiation in space, sure, but I don't think the launch is a big challenge.

LegitosaurusRex

I don't think the launch is what's dangerous to data center components. They should be fine with some vibration and G's.

LegitosaurusRex

Nah, they still part them out in China. They replace the chips on the stolen parts with chips from legit but broken parts to fool the detection.

LegitosaurusRex

Alerts crew members to do what? Ask you not to take it? Highly doubt any of them are allowed to try to stop you.

LegitosaurusRex

Most iPhones that are stolen are sent to China to be parted out anyway. They're too hard to crack.

LegitosaurusRex

I  would ask you if you think a highly sensitive machine can survive a rocket ride (They cant)

Huh? What part of a data center is more “sensitive” than the instruments on all the rovers, in the ISS, in all our satellites, and in the space telescopes that it couldn’t survive a launch?

LegitosaurusRex

Nah, I’m quite cozy here and have very good job security.

Their “fuzzy search engine” writes probably 95% of our 80-person org’s code at my FAANG, and it’s probably similar for the others. It also writes more complete tests and documentation and performs more thorough code reviews than any human we’ve ever hired.

It’s still not perfect and needs guidance and oversight, but it’s lightyears ahead of the fuzzy search engine it was in 2022, and will 100% be the future of coding.

LegitosaurusRex

I don’t think so. Apple hasn’t been doing huge layoffs for one.

LegitosaurusRex

Not anymore they don’t. They rent a server in a building that’s equidistant with all the other rentable servers to the NYSE servers.

And you’ve come to the conclusion that your issue was just that you weren’t taking profits soon enough, but now that you are, gambling is okay this time around?

LegitosaurusRex

“Wormed”? “Deliberately positioned themselves” by becoming the largest companies in the world and thus being added to the common indexes that include all of the largest companies? How devious of them.

LegitosaurusRex

It’s not possible for them to do that. Once investors get scared and start pulling all their money out of the market, even dropping rates to zero and printing tons of money won’t stop the crash.

LegitosaurusRex

Unless they’re on the finance team and have been putting together the numbers, they don’t have a clue. It’s a big company.

LegitosaurusRex

Uh, I was pointing out that that wasn’t the only mechanism like you implied it was, explaining why they said “wall street”.
