No one is arguing that holding sealed equates 1:1 to buying S&P 500.

But your generalization of ripping packs/powerpacks/holding sealed is fundamentally flawed.

The underlying foundation of commodities may be the same. But they are fundamentally different “strategies” to what we call investing in the Pokemon space.

Ideally you want the gem rate to be as low as possible. 50% if the card is highly desirable is ok.

I’d argue against marketplace, too niche and people will lowball the crap out of this lot.

Pop + get rate (10/9/8 only) is what I used.

Last year I was picking up PSA 10 IRs for $40-$60, sending them to the vault. Most are $100+ now, a select few are pushing $200+ now.

I think the only way to get vintage 10s now is to send flawless and pray, or help them market with whatever live opening program they have.
