Did I say let them off? Why does me pointing out things that challenge your point of view mean I condone letting off rapists?

Not make a huge show and dance about how big and scary migration is and how white people aren't safe because of them. Don't make the big issue of sexual violence in the UK about migration. Focus that attention and money on education for prevention, deterrence, and rehabilitation. Tackle the root issues of why young men do this, and find solutions to their unhealthy views on women and themselves.

Are you serious? No it's not. The population of Asians in the UK is 9% and the percentage of asian sexual offenders in the UK is 5-7%. It is lower.

I'm not against controlling immigration more strictly. And I know these statistics matter, but it's important to discuss these things with the nuance they have.

The issue isn't specific nationalities or ethnicities, the overwhelming majority of sex crimes are committed by young adult men—this is the most important statistic. The migrants from these particular countries skew more male than migrants from countries who are lower in that list, so it makes complete sense why their per capita rates would higher. And also even in these circumstances in the UK, 80% of total sexual offenses are STILL commited by white men. Sure the per capita rate might be higher in the foreign Afghanistani population in the UK, but the amount of crimes is still overwhelmingly British and white.

With the the data and the nuances in mind, making your fight against sexual violence about immigration is ridiculous. If anyone genuinely cares about stopping sexual crimes then their focus should be on the overwhelming majority first, which is British young adult males.

"However, he does suggest trans and gay people should not face persecution, and that Muslims should obey the laws of the country they live in rather than seeking to apply Shariah law themselves."

Did you actually read the article?

Many things can be true. Islam can have violent origins, and violent texts, and violent followers. It can also be a faith people see differently: a faith people choose to believe is about peace and that doesn't condone violent or immoral acts. Islamic texts can be wrong, the people who defend those texts can be wrong, and so can reform and support for Israel.

It's people like you—people who can't see any nuance in life, and have no real ability to see outside of themselves—that are the problem. On all sides.
