The author gets pissed off at commenters and followers then goes on a big rant every year or two.

I think they were disputing that dragons are just blimps with personalities.

In the book there was hand wavey stuff around the coma as well. They found a rare generic marker that indicated someone was suitable for long term induced coma and all potential crew members had to have it. Even then two of the three died en route.

Bruce Campbell would have made such a perfect Sully. In fact, just swap in the Burn Notice crew and I'd have been happy.

My daughter started volleyball and tennis when she was 12. She’s now on the JV tennis team and has made many friends and friendly rivals through the sport.
Her matches are usually doubles with rotating partners, so even though she only plays with one teammate at a time, she is definitely still part of a team.

It’s more akin to the bit at the beginning of the Hunger Games, where there is a pile of available loot and everyone has to rush to get what they can.
For dragon con, there are a few thousand rooms total and seventy thousand people who want one. They sell out in a few minutes.
This year and last year’s hotel hunger games have been petty smooth. No big glitches or technical problems. People get disappointed, but that’s life when demand far outstrips supply.
The fiascos I’ve seen are:
For the 2022 hunger games, the site simply couldn’t handle the traffic. It took a couple hours for the rooms to sell out because most of the time it just died during the checkout process. It was a true random chance.
For 2023, the Marriott site went live 15 minutes before the scheduled time. Rooms were sold out before most people were even ready to queue up.
2024 - the Marriott passkey website only had single king rooms available. Double rooms could only be booked by phone. So many people who actually got in and had a chance for a room didn’t get one because they wanted the other sort and didn’t realize that it was messed up.

It is hard and you have to be intentional. You also have to temper your expectations. You won’t be a Greek God. The house won’t be spotless, every workout isn’t perfect or on time and some of them get called early.
But you can be decently fit with only a few hours per week of effort. Lifting weights three times per week for 45 minutes isn’t a crazy ask. It’s much easier if you don’t have to go to an outside gym. A couple of kettlebells and dumbbells can also get you into decent shape. A side benefit of doing this at home is that your toddlers will see you being healthy as a normal part of life. They’ll want to participate and do it with you.
Meal prepping on Sunday and being willing to eat the same thing 10 times over the next week is also huge for both time savings and health benefits. Here you’re compromising variety for convenience and intentional nutrition.

It is true. I had multiple devices all in queue about 15 minutes before opening. I got placed between 1200 and 15000 across them

That would be nice, but I don’t trust him to Ginsberg it. I think he’s idealistic enough to want to lock in the 6-3 over keeping a death grip on the vote himself.

Don’t forget that Infinite’s campaign was a continuation of the story from a spin off series! People who just played the mainline games were lost.

The vast majority of jobs don’t need them. Building a website for someone to log in, schedule a house cleaning, and pay for it doesn’t need anything more than some text fields and a connection to a database.
Lima__Fox
Yep! That's the one.

Kinda sounds like “Lakesha girl, what is you doing?!” from SNL Crime News.

I handed out a hundred ribbons. I got the happiness of giving it out, and what they did with them is completely up to them.
After a year with an entirely impractical badge beard, I stick to maybe a dozen total and keep the rest for after con.

I have a 5 day pass but I brought my seven year old for just Sunday this year. She dressed up, attended the photo shoot for her costume, and got to roam around and experience the energy.
I live close-ish, so I woke up at 6am and spent about 8 hours in total driving to get her and taking her back and she spent about 8 hours with me at the con.
It was worth it for me to see her filled with wonder at the costumes and scale of everything and to see how she lit up every time someone praised her costume.

Even last year they were still in small Hyatt rooms. The books were starting to blow up but nothing compared to the last 6 months

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
The ‘event’ happens in the future, but time travel makes that irrelevant. I think it was two good to very good seasons.

Whoa whoa whoa. Kirby Smart would like a timeout on this

Invader Zim maybe? Middle/high school was inundated with it. I think it holds up against things like Rick and Morty today.

Mitsuda also did Xenogears, which is on par with Chrono Trigger, in my opinion.
Also Final Fantasy Tactics was Hitoshi Sakimoto and it’s also incredible.
Squaresoft couldn’t miss.

It’s a fantastic story. I highly recommend it. I just wanted to temper your ‘progression’ expectations.
Lima__Fox
There is some progression in it, but it is largely knowledge and relationships based. The core of the story is a super powered time loop. For the vast majority of characters, power levels are static.

In The Knight by Will Wight, when Varic arrives at the arena to find his friend broken, then systematically dismantles gladiator after gladiator. “I am here to teach you that there are some people you cannot afford to offend.”
It is one of the most cathartic crashouts I’ve ever read.

For my company, we get basically a hundred nearly identical applications for any job posting. It’s obviously just people feeding our posting into AI and having it tailor their resume directly to it.
We had to tell our recruiting partners to tighten the prompts they use in their AI screening software.
It’s an HR person using AI to write the listing, candidates using AI to apply, then HR using AI to screen them. And sometimes the candidates trying to use AI during interviews.
What a fucking mess.
I think Nevermore was too long, but it's not nearly as bad if you can read straight through compared to chapter by chapter on release.
