To be honest, take the vegan out of this argument and replace it with anything else. Your boyfriend is constantly putting you down and forcing you to live the way he wants to.

You can say you didn't do any of this for him, but you didn't want your dog to go Vegan, and because of him, you did...

I'm not here to argue the benefits of that because frankly, I don't know the facts, but what I can say is you have a boyfriend who is displaying extremely controlling tendencies, and that is worrying.

Let's say your dog was to have an adverse reaction to the Vegan diet. Again, not saying this could/would happen just a thought experiment. Do you think your boyfriend would let you swap back?

I've left this one til last because the fact hes mad at you because you have to take medication that isn't vegan because there is no alternative, is absolutely vile. He'd honestly rather see you sick than take the medication, let that sink in, and realise that you come 2nd in your relationship to this.

As I said, take the vegan argument out of this, and look at the facts of how he treats you.

How is it defensive or passive-aggressive? The other commentor jumped to mental health issues being the reason (which if they're so quick to jump to that, why are they in this sub?). OP just took the same attempt at a smart comment and pointed it right back at them.
