What's wrong with having multiple subcategories of planetary bodies for those cases where the position does make a difference?

However, there are also two lane one way streets with Leitpfosten on the left side like here.

The golden eagle would like to have a word.

In my experience, you don't get science from the atmosphere if the craft isn't loaded. The game will still consider you in space even if you are below 140 km.

There is official paperwork of him joining the Allgemeine SS on May 1st 1940, which he would not have needed to do if he had continuously been a member since 1933.

> Joining the SS was a bit more complicated that filling out a form and checking some boxes.

That was true after the restructuring on October 15th 1934. Until then, handing in a form and buying a uniform really was enough.

> They also weren't just throwing out "honorary Sturmbannführers" to people

He was promoted to Sturmbannführer in 1943, after the weapons he designed entered production. Seems like a good enough reason for such a promotion to me.

> go ahead and believe a narrative that is factually inconsistent from a member of the Nazi Party

I am definitely not defending him or denying his involvement in the death of thousands and enslavement of even more. Nor do I "believe a narrative" of a man who denied his SS membership if I break down the details of said membership. I simply want this discussion to be based on the actual facts.

He was a member of Reiter-SS for several months from 1933 to 1934 when he visited a riding school, which (like many others at the time) was run by the SS. He rejoined the SS in 1940 when he had already been leading Germany's rocket development for 3 years. At that time, SS membership surely protected him from some of the SS hardliners who didn't like him.

Wernher von Braun was enthusiastic about one thing and that's space flight. His ultimate goal in life was to send humans to Mars. When joining the Nazi party meant he could be in charge of the German rocket development, he did that. When he realized that Germany was done and switching sides to the Americans would allow him to continue his work, he did that. And yes, of course he would happily meet with the main sponsor of his passion project.

Nobody argued that von Braun was secretly a good guy or something, he didn't give a shit if something was good or evil, he only cared if it got him closer to Mars or not. The only argument here is that he didn't actively hate Jews, so him using a Hebrew name in his fictional story isn't that noteworthy.

Die Langstreckendrohnen kommen da locker hin, ist nicht weiter weg als Moskau.

"And if the Rohirrim at their onset were thrice outnumbered by the Haradrim alone, soon their case became worse; for new strength came now streaming to the field out of Osgiliath. There they had been mustered for the sack of the City and the rape of Gondor, waiting on the call of their Captain. He was now destroyed; but Gothmog the lieutenant of Morgul had flung them into the fray"

Pretty sure you're right. I can watch the launchpad change as I click through my various launch complexes.

Locedamius

He probably does know. Imagine lying there in the dirt with nothing but those corpses for company and realizing that these next few minutes or hours of pain is all you will ever experience in your life.

The numbers I found during my 30 seconds worth of research were all between 8 and 9 l/100km, which would add up to around 25 litres for the 300 km drive.

Locedamius

Damn, that's not even enough to get a fully loaded Lada from Sevastopol to Kerch. (Yes, I did the math on that)

Launch, not reentry. What we are seeing are the exhaust gasses of the rocket engine being illuminated by the sun. Very common for rocket launches seen during early morning or late evening when the observer is in the dark but the rocket is high enough up to be in the sunlight.

The end goal is to reuse the entire booster, basically just a quick inspection and then refuel it and launch it again potentially within hours. Of course, the whole system is still in development and years away from rapid reusability. With this catch they effectively showed that they can get the booster back down in one piece, which also gave them the chance to inspect it and learn which parts held up well and which are too damaged to reuse and thus need improvements in their design.

Keep in mind, they have been reusing their Falcon-9 boosters for over a decade now, so the basic concept is nothing new.

Looks like a case of SAS overcompensating for tiny movements. Have you tried extending and strutting your rings before turning on SAS and orienting the craft?

Locedamius

I'll have to rewatch the scene to see what they saw there, but Schaser came out 19th after shooting 1 without doing a loop.

Locedamius

He didn't, ZDF commentators are talking bullshit as usual.

Locedamius

Yes

If you're fine with running instead of skiing, you can look into summer biathlon. There are hundreds of people in Germany doing that as a hobby and we're not limited to a handful of skiing areas, there are clubs all over the country: https://sommerbiathlon.net/9.html

You really had to jinx it, didn't you

Locedamius

Yes, not lapped is always better than lapped.

I'm already looking forward to the pursuit.

That's 4,25 per athlete on average. What a crazy race!

Meanwhile Janina had the 4th best ski time, the wax can't have been that bad.
