gf suggested Final Futility 14

Locusts

you could do something with Final Fantasy 14

Locusts

👍

Locusts

lmao believe me, I've been putting out applications like there's no tomorrow! I'm hoping to have an offer very soon, it's just tough out there

Locusts

oh don't worry, I plan on scheduling all the PTO I have before putting in my notice

Locusts

what contact?? I don't have one. I come in on the days the company and I both agreed I'd work, but if I can't then I won't. just the same that calling out sick isn't breaking the terms of a contract, informing them I won't be available a specific day is likewise not. they had a month to look at that and tell me it wouldn't work for them, and they failed to. if they told me earlier, I gladly would've talked to other shifts to see about swapping for the day, but now they're just gonna be down a person

Locusts

they can call it a request all they want, I'm still not gonna be there. this, I am providing them notice.

their job to pay attention to PTO requests for scheduling purposes, not mine. that makes it entirely their problem

Locusts

aw great job!! I'm throwing applications out like crazy, getting a few interviews. as soon as I have an offer, I'm outta here!

Locusts

lol funny thing is 60¢ works out to ~2% for me

Locusts

that sounds infuriating, glad you don't have to deal with that anymore lol

Locusts

Holy shit what a scumbag! good on you for telling them off and leaving, you deserve waaaaaay better than that

Locusts

I know, how generous! a whole extra $20/mo! that'll help me keep up with my rent immensely!!

lol everyone here started looking for new jobs after that

Locusts

everyone here is looking for new jobs after that lmao

Locusts

because this is the first time it's been an issue. sounds like someone here would rather put the "good of the company" over their own happiness and wellbeing. just because they call it a request doesn't mean it is a request. if someone "requests" to leave a police encounter, they're not actually asking, they're demanding their rights be respected. big difference

Locusts

if I were corporate, I'd prolly do that, but I'm at a warehouse atm and just happen to be behind a computer. besides, I'm not planning on staying much longer, so imma get that PTO paid out one way or another

Locusts

oh damn you got it exactly lol I'm just a warehouse worker who happens to be behind a computer. I see this happen literally every holiday

Locusts

I've got 128 hours of no show time banked up lol but good advice regardless!!

Locusts

good point, and I'm planning on sending an email today to all them informing them I don't be in tomorrow so it won't be a no call no show. gotta have that paper trail lol. and my job has a system where you accrue "bucket hours" which are used for this exact purpose, so I'd have to miss ~128 hours before they could fire me for it.

also, they won't lol I've been the sole person keeping the weekend shift from collapsing for the past 18 months or so. they know better

Locusts

technically no, because he left for another job and then came back lol but damn, that's some shit. sorry your bosses did that, that's gotta be frustrating

Locusts

literally the first time this has been a problem, but go off ig

Locusts

keep that boss!!!

Locusts

damn straight, and imma send an email tomorrow before I leave so I have a paper trail!

Locusts

if you think I'm upset someone else is using their PTO, you should work on your reading comprehension. by all means, everyone should use their PTO, I don't care about that. but management had a whole month to tell me I wouldn't be getting PTO, I would've come in another day I don't work too make up for the lost hours

Locusts

oh no question lmao I been putting out applications like there's no tomorrow

Locusts

if I had paid sick days, I'd do that. but since I don't, I just told him right then and there that I won't be in Sunday lol
