We still have that exact version, and I’ve played it with my kids. Glad my parents saved all that stuff.

What does “break free from human control” even mean? Where is it going to go? It’s software running on some hardware in a datacenter.

It was the Gamer’s Nexus video I was referring to. Someone else posted a link here. I thought the video had demonstrated it, but someone else here refutes that. Would have to rewatch to confirm.

It will cache the data it wants to send, look for un-secured wifi, connect and send it. Which means you don’t have to give it a wifi password for it to spy on you. Your neighbor just has to leave their access point unsecured.
It will also screenshot your screen occasionally and send that.

Rockin’ the APAP. Anyone else?
(Pressure changes, but not inhalation vs exhalation like BiPAP, just based on how I’m breathing)

It desperately needs a chord change and a release. Just builds like a banger and never releases. Very frustrating.

I had a friend in the 90’s whose parents refused to ever let them connect their computer to this new “internet” thing. Said it was a scourge and full or evil deadbeats that would take over their computer.
AI is here to stay. It will only get better and nothing will ever be the same. You can shake your fist at it and tell people they suck for using it, but in the end, none of that will matter.
But like any other tool, you have to learn how to use it.
If you give it a framework, like “this is how i do my QT, help me calculate doses and remind me when to do the steps” and you are specific, then it is an amazing tool.
If you are vague like “why did my fish die?” Then it will just try to fill in the gaps how ever it can.

My son still has his Trilogy EVO. If they ever come to get it, we’ll probably “misplace” it that day.

Now would be a great time to go on used equipment sites and see if you can score a backup unit.

Philips isn’t making these anymore. They’ve left the respironics business unit. Our replacement is a Hillrom model that does the same thing. But the Philips was so much better.

So now we have to figure is this a story of a guy who almost got screwed…
Or is this the beginning of the “thank god for that surveillance camera” PR campaign? Sucks we live in a world where literally either could be true.

Need clams. Lots of clams.

I’m sure your tank is perfect. Let it trickle into that middle pipe you’re talking about, grow some coral, and enjoy!

You will never ever get the return flow to equal the drain. It will always be a little too high or a little too low.
Better for it to be a little too high and trickle into the high pipe. That is normally the design.

Only slightly related, i know headrests are necessary for safety, but man, cars were roomier without them. Used to be so much easier to talk to people in the backseat.

Fun fact, the guy that did the Mariner line for Eshopps used to work at RedSea. He left for Eshopps where they would let him address all the issues.

I think the lighter weight materials they use these days don’t hold up as well.
I have a SD Clip Flashlight (it’s the tent name not an actual flashlight) from ‘93 that is also still in great shape. But my Big Agnus from 10 years ago is struggling.

This is great work! Impressive

I had this in my room in the 80s! Forgot all about that. My dad brought it home.

I find the smell reminds me more of cat piss in a litter box than fish.
Rancid coffee is gross.

I think there are some varieties that don’t multiply like the herpes Aiptasia.
The stuff that hitchhikes on TBS live rock for instance. Or so they say.

It is crazy that LLMs - word prediction- ended up being the secret recipe to Star Trek level computer interactions. And how quickly everyone just accepted this.
The increased level at which we interact with these systems over just the past year is mind blowing.
At work, we don’t subscribe to cloud based software anymore. We just write our own in a weekend. Need jira? Don’t pay for it. Write a clone in a few days. Need project management software? Whip up a prompt and let Claude churn out a product.
The idea that something like Claude will someday write itself is very easily in sight.
And that feedback loop is exciting.

The whole outrage feels manufactured and guided to be honest. I have only seen online outrage. Not a single person i interact with in person gives a crap. But I have not really sought to educate myself on the cons, so maybe it’s real and I’m ignorant.

I loved my LG washer and dryer. Worked great for 20years and I had no issues finding parts. I gave them to a friend who is still using them and only replaced them because i needed a tower to save space. Maybe this is a hot take but I will ONLY buy LG washers and dryers.
I have read they are looking to replace the parliamentarian.
