It wasn't a divorce, but I ended my engagement and that was a huge factor. Back in 2017 he started showing extreme support of Trump. By 2019, I left. There were plenty of other contributing factors, but he thought Trump could do no wrong and it disgusted me.

I just watched the YouTube video of Jeff recording that scene and it brought me to tears all over again

I think it was the raw emotion of the moment and seeing Carl feel so helpless to stop what was about to happen. So far, he has gotten pretty lucky with being able to come up with a last minute solution but this time, you see in real time that there are no fixes and he is devastated. He wants so badly to save everyone and he realizes that this time he is going to fail. I cried for him in that moment. I also cried for Garret. He knew his mom was upset but he didn't understand why. All he wanted so desperately was to comfort her. I have a huge soft spot for animals (even weird meatballs) so knowing he was in emotional distress with out being able to understand the situation made me ball like a baby

You're not alone. I rarely ever cried prior to having kids! My family used to get upset with me for bottling everything up and not showing outward emotions often. Once I had kids? Game over. If something is super wholesome; crying. Something even remotely uncomfortable happens to an animal or they become emotionally distressed; crying. Someone makes a heartfelt speech in a book (like Donut with Bea); crying.

I actually appreciate that I've softened with age and life experiences. Sadness is an important emotion and crying is such a cathartic emotional release. With that being said, screw Matt for breaking my heart 😂😂😂 respectfully

I always listen to like 15-20 minutes as I'm laying down to fall asleep at night and THAT was the scene that happened last night. I was just laying in the dark bawling my eyes out. I loved that he provided the teeny tiny bit of comic relief when Wren texted Donut to let her know she really had been right about Wren being an experience hog and rigging the pet show. Yes!!! Matt does this so incredibly well. My shattered little heart hates it in the moment, but its part of what makes this series so incredible.

Its crazy how different people interpret what they hear!! When I started the audiobooks and heard Donut's voice for the first time, my immediate thought was "Oh wow! I had no idea they had a full cast for this production". I had no clue Jeff did all the the voices until I was well into book two
