This is a good point. Though I would argue that Thrawn sees the troops under him more as a collection of assets that just happens to contain people.
LorrMaster
On pyro I don't think the hat is too bad actually. At least by Christmas hat standards.

If you're using the razorback and are somewhat competent then you should be standing around something that will shoot the spy. Spy has to go through the entire enemy team. Sniper has to take a few steps outside of spawn. The spy has a lot more to lose from a risky play.
LorrMaster
Well *I* think it should have been like that from the beginning, ought to be outright expected behavior, and that the entire enemy team *deserves* to get backstabbed because of it.
LorrMaster
Crusader's crossbow heals disguised enemy spies.

The "rejects" is just a name referring to the player characters.
Let me try putting it more bluntly: The story team for Darktide is very unsubtle about all the things that I'm listing. These are *really* obvious story details. If you're missing them then you don't know the lore nearly as well as you think you do.
LorrMaster
I'd be very surprised if they included sisters with different armor types considering how strict Fatshark has been with that sort of thing.
Respectfully, I don't think this is a lore knowledge gap. I just have a better eye for story details and you're missing the forest for the trees when it comes to them. There is a clear type of story being told for Darktide, there are clear lines and boundaries being placed between the world of sisters of battle, tech priests, and even space marines and the world of the rejects. This boundary also exists in other games, though is less prevalent in them. You're just not picking up on this and are instead focused on the technobabble. That's nice, but it isn't quite the meat of the setting.
LorrMaster
I like how Fatshark clearly made a conscious decision not to include power armor, but the people who point that out are in the wrong.
Maybe it turns out that don't know anything about the lore. But I have seen enough media to know that SoB are consistently depicted as fighting alongside space marines (not necessarily as equals) and tech priests. Skitarii fight under tech priests like Hadron in large numbers and are specifically stated as being less augmented than them, in quality if nothing else. There is a very clear hierarchy being shown.
The Mechanicus allocate the best augmentations to those who possess tech-knowledge. The skitarii are warriors meant to protect those people.
The veterans trickle into the Warband because they survived the meatgrinder. Psykers through unnatural ability. The ogryns through muscle and (more importantly) being slightly smarter than a normal ogryn. Zealots (and novitiates I presume) through immense faith. Arbites through training and equipment. Hive scum know the land I guess. Skitarii through their impressive but still not tech priest-level augmentations. The warband is made up of normal people that stand out just enough that they can survive against the odds.
LorrMaster
An ogryn is also way dumber, untrained, and less armored. I imagine that a sister in power armor would be like having 60 traits from both the zealot and ogryn skill trees at the same time.
LorrMaster
I think people vastly overestimate skitarii power-wise. They're enhanced, but they're also designed to be mass-produced and are most definitely not covered in power armor.

As much as I consider Trump to be a complete selfish moron I don't consider voting for him to meet the threshold of being a horrifying person. Nor have I seen anything that goes anywhere near the criteria for supporting ethnic cleansing or any kind of violence like the post describes. Please enlighten me as to what I'm missing.
LorrMaster
He does seem like a difficult person, but the thread itself looks a lot more toxic to me than the actual tweets their describing.
LorrMaster
I haven't played the new map yet, but Wutville breaks a ton of mapping rule and ended up being a lot of fun for at least some of the playerbase (me included). When everyone follows the exact same mapping rules they all just start blending together in a boring way.
LorrMaster
I only play in large biomes because they look nicer and I enjoy the challenge of having limited materials. Plus it makes long-distance travel more interesting.
LorrMaster
I'm still of the apparently unpopular opinion that SoB don't really make sense story-wise. They're basically zealots++ that walk around in power armor.
LorrMaster
Could be an oil/water thing where the two liquids just don't mix.
LorrMaster
I think the answer here is just "it depends". On the sentry placement, on the teleportation distance, on the amount of health/ammo on the map.
LorrMaster
All I'm saying is that regardless of its other stats, the lunaire is going to continue being a problem until its range gets tuned.
LorrMaster
Colonials having to walk into garrison AI range is the point. The Lunaire is a lightweight arc grenade launcher. You can destroy anything without retaliation if you can get into arc range behind cover, plus you get the benefit of being able to carry multiple types of ammunition to help you get there. The cutler is slow, heavy, and requires LOS to deal damage. Actually nerfing the range would make them balanced against each other where one is good in flat terrain and the other is good in trenches/rough terrain. Right now the Lunaire is objectively better in all situations because it gets the best of all worlds.
LorrMaster
Eh, I still think that the insane range for an arc weapon is still the #1 thing that solidifies the Lunaire as completely busted almost no matter what else they do with it.
LorrMaster
Wait, the Lunaire cost was less than half that of the cutler? I already thought it was completely broken and I didn't even know that.
LorrMaster
I'd like to see thick walls that you can climb and towers with AI. Might be useful for protecting facilities.
LorrMaster
I intentionally didn't include the idea because it wasn't important for the design, but I think that it could be an interesting mechanic if the wreck is spread out over a large area. Maybe half a hex or something. So navel battle sites could be hotspots for salvage activity over the next 12-24 hours or so.
LorrMaster
I think that it was just an incompetent upper management decision to get in on all the battle royale popularity at the time.
Maybe its the payload capture point? Or some trigger box overlapping with it?
