I don't think from what you describe anyone was in the wrong initially. Those calls can be hard to make and it's not even generally possible to know who has managed to get their runes back already or not, so risking losing everything is hard to even do in an informed way if it's unclear if you're staying behind to retrieve something then run, or stubbornly bang head into a wall instead of disengaging to do something more constructive. From the Executor's position it's understandable to get frustrated. Play enough Nightreign there will be frustrating experiences sometimes.

The reason misgendering Kris is wrong is not because they're a minority, it's because misgendering people is wrong.

Also a cis male like Ralsei is quite a minority too, so even that defense doesn't make sense.

Some people apparently only oppose misgendering Kris because they think they should make special exceptions for minorities rather than actually thinking the root concept of misgendering people is wrong, and that is where the friction arises.

I don't think that will ever happen because of a very weird bias a lot of people have with the concept of gender identity where they think it only matters for certain people.

Maybe I've just been very sheltered and lucky on Reddit but I had never actually seen anyone viciously tell another user to off themselves on Reddit until a tralsei supporter said it to a "transphobe" who had literally not said anything remotely transphobic.

Also transphobia is an abhorrent thing practiced by the worst people in the universe, flippantly demonizing people as being transphobic is very insulting and demeaning, and it's done all the time by tralsei fans. They also tend to have really fucked up things to say about gnc men/femboys that border on right wing talking points about trans people with a couple of words replaced.

When someone comes out with some unhinged flimsy knight theory, at least if I say "nah that doesn't make sense" I won't usually be demonized as a nazi, hear some bigoted things about feminine men and/or be told to go commit Yellow.

Some of the people pushing the trans Ralsei headcanon come across like legit far right agitators pretending to be part of the queer community just to sow animosity, which is very easy for them to do because it works pretty much every time due to how prone to tribalism people are.

And the fact it is hidden from people that it's even happening is the only reason there isn't a bunch of outcry about it.
