They give you a new modem and are out the door. Lo and behold, the tech that comes after an FCC complaint finds that the external lines are damaged or something on the node blew up.

My complex switched to Aerwave which uses fiber. Half the cost, 1 GB up and down, only one issue since it was implemented and it was fixed immediately. It's literally a selling point for staying in this stupid apartment.

The only issue to me would be if the seller didn't acknowledge the current market price. This is really fine.

You should be able to demand a pro-rated refund based on how long you went without service, but there is a better path:

File an FCC complaint. It's the best way to get a timely response and when they do respond by calling you, if you mention that you paid for multiple days without internet, they'll probably give you a free month.

Whenever I had issues with Cox (all the time), I always opened a service ticket through normal channels, but filed an FCC complaint at the same time to get the ball rolling. It always goes better and gets my problem solved faster. The few times I said, "No no, let's just see what the service tech does" and waited to get a complaint in, it'd just drag my issue for weeks.

I guess Bucky is done for the day. Can't complain much and it'd be the smart move, but bittersweet.

It's all subjective to be honest. Some people go by general color, others set, others by border type, card type, the list goes on. And then people go with combinations of those.
