For anyone wondering why the harsh response, those emojis are just pedo dogwhistles.

Think boomer FB posts of patriotism and Jesus. Like the AI art the Cheeto in Chief reposted of himself as Jesus healing the sick with F16 and eagles in the background. They LOVE making and circulating that stuff. Or at least circulating whatever the bots put out. Most recently, the Florida airport that JUST renamed itself after Trump used AI art on its official billboard leading into it (people think the eagle's legs looks REALLY off). Currently a top post on r/pics.

First google result https://news.oregonstate.edu/news/research-finds-quakes-can-systematically-trigger-other-ones-opposite-side-earth or https://www.geoengineer.org/news/earthquakes-can-trigger-seismic-events-on-the-opposite-side-of-earth (both talk about same 2018 study here https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-018-30019-2.epdf?author_access_token=hOAlfd3xnWvqS7nPt12bzNRgN0jAjWel9jnR3ZoTv0OAYF-yK8q7T-DzGoi6vX-slJKvLeyXd3MxxYsCIrHr4Fqkh1Ow7pnJ5mV2yvzVxGPeft7ny0uFZW_z90FYvtMRLk0HarwNElGn4v3V7OGsMw%3D%3D) suggests that's exactly what you expect to happen, usually in a 3 or up to 5 day window. It can trigger either around it or on the exact opposite side (vibrations moving down through core or mantle to other side?). The exact mechanism of how the energy is transferred is unclear, but the pattern is not. Figure 8 from the study itself is a nice visual.

And it could be a shared source. It's not necessarily that Venezuela caused Japan's quake. Instead a third variable happening deeper in core that's harder to detect could be responsible for both triggering at similar times. Looks like Japan's 7.2 quake was an hour after Venezuella's 7.2+7.5 quakes. It seems the weakest but fastest waves that can go through liquid take about 30min to travel from one side of earth to other. Maybe that's enough when the other fault lines might just need a nudge to cause a big, sudden slip. Literally the last straw the breaks the camel's back rather than the first quake being 90% responsible. The stronger waves that have to move around via the crust but are slower. Neat stuff.

Last night Conservative had their top 7 posts (literally 1-7) be about it and a couple more below that.

He's not. It's evidence of RMT and laundering.

road ethics wise SOME blame should be on the van

Again, no one is disputing that. You said that the person speeding, swerving, and attempting murder was less infuriating to share the road with than someone passing slowly or even camping in the passing lane. That's the part people are calling out. And when it's 99% to 1% in blame, saying "bOtH sIdEs" isn't very helpful.

If you want to cruise going 55 in a 65 or 60 in a 70 get into the right lane and stay there.

That doesn't seem to be the scenario here. The truck was comfortably passing the first semi and then passing the second semi when the tailgater started instigating. Looks like they were passing faster when they were able to overtake the semis on the uphill but once there was a slight decline the semi accelerated (we lack any actual info on speeds, only relative speed between them). Maybe the truck had a limiter that was fast enough on uphill but forced an engine brake on downhill. Maybe having someone tailgating them made them feel unsafe and now have to split their attention by having to watch what the fuck the reckless person might be doing at all times, so they slowed down (not a wise reaction, but one many people make in the moment and has logic to it). Most likely the truck driver was at worst mildly antagonizing the reckless driver (they didn't even do a brake check at any point that I see).

And if I'm going 70 in a 70 and there's a semi going 65, I get to pass them. Or if I'm going 75 and passing someone going 70. I don't even have to speed up all the way to 80 to pass them slightly faster (10 over can certainly get you pulled over in many places). If while I'm passing someone comes up on my ass going 90, I don't have to speed up to pass faster and risk being pulled over nor make an unsafe early merge in front of a goddamn semi that would crush me if I had to slam on brakes (like if the asshole brake checks me because they were slighted I didn't move over fast enough), nor do I have to never pass because the reckless driver speeding a quarter mile behind I'm unaware of might be mildly inconvenienced. As soon as I can merge I will and I have no interest in staying in a semi's blind spot any longer than I have to.

Don't feed the trolls. He's not worth your time/effort.

Partially because this is how people in Sweden socially distance in winter when there isn't a pandemic going on. They also don't do small talk and are anti-social/introverted as a culture. They've been labeled as one of "loneliest" and "most solitary" countries in the world. So are you admitting that all of these things likely helped them immensely and everyone else should have followed their example of distancing during a pandemic?

And like others pointed out "they were fine" is a gross misrepresentation.

Mande1baum

Aren't you being just as toxic? Inferring everyone is mocking, ridiculing, being nasty and hostile towards you when most the time that's not what they are doing at all. People took the time to read your question and give you a reply. Yes, some people will be terse. But most of the time people asking a question somehow assume everyone here knows 100% what they are talking about without giving any context and then sometimes they'll get angry we couldn't read their mind or are offended when asked to give extra info.

https://old.reddit.com/r/LinneaMains_/comments/1srichc/off_field_support_linnea/ohf04qd/

This seems to be the comment that sent you off? Nothing they said was rude or insulting. They asked where you were getting your misconceptions and confusion because it's important to understand WHY someone has those misconceptions. You asked if Lumi stays on field if you switch out Linnea. This is basic functionality, like assuming she's a Claymore user because you saw Lumi use hammers. You don't need to "know everything about this game" to do basic research or have more than 1 source for an opinion. If someone made a thread asking what the best claymore to use on Linnea is, they're probably gonna get a bit roasted, but they really shouldn't take that much offense.

You take offense at one benign comment and now are spending time bemoaning a whole community and ignoring and disregarding all the people who were being helpful.

Why is the vein on the crying girl here?

Are you going to argue that the emoji is crying because they watched something sad now too? I will agree that not everyone using the emojis knows what they all mean (plenty of edgelords), and meanings are different depending on person+context, and it gets especially muddled with dog whistles where the point is to be confusing for anyone unaware. Either way, all of them reference rape when used towards a child. Either the person intending to do the raping is angry/violent or the victim is in pain.

Mande1baum

Should she have been smacked?

Considering I literally stated nothing of that nature, kindly fuck off with the strawman. Maybe requiring an apology to her parents that worked dozens of hours to pay for the phone? But that's probably too abusive for your tastes considering you can see nothing in-between saying her name in a frustrated tone and physical abuse.

Mande1baum

I believe they were, but since it's banned hard to reference directly. And it's a pretty safe bet because ANY time a game draws this crowd it's all that they do and spam. It's not subtle or sporadic at all and pretty universal wherever it's found a foothold.

And while they may be co-opting BDSM/Kink terms for their dogwhistles, it's more likely that BDSM/Kink is actually the one co-opting terms like "brat" from these groups instead, so enjoy that thought.

Mande1baum

All just pretty much mean rape. Crab was new to me and is a reference to privates like cute+funny is (guess the Japanese word or kanji is similar enough).

See the comments in this thread for the general idea/use and I'm sure you can infer what the crying and red x denote. https://old.reddit.com/r/AngelsOfDelusion/comments/1qru0tv/psa_on_inappropriate_terms_and_emoji_use_on/

Mande1baum

Not really. Usually only time it's not a dog whistle is if the context clearly indicates another use. Like if the crying emoji is used for something actually sad or the red x emoji is used to denote something that makes you angry.

Most of the time it's just using those in response to an image with zero other context, often all in a row. "She's such a brat, she needs discipline to correct her +emoji spam".

Here's a whole thread of them bragging about it in a post by the mod in response to other subs banning that behavior. Even though it's a "safe space" they keep using the emojis somewhat as a joke but more because directly saying what the dogwhistles mean would get them banned.
