When you were drawing pitch bends in Vocaloid, were you getting a stair shape instead of a smooth curve? If so, try turning off quantization.

Also, for non-AI voicebanks in Vocaloid, note bends tend to work well, so that's another option. You can use the scissor tool to cut the notes.

For vibrato in Vocaloid, make sure you're using the expression tool.

But if you hate tuning in Vocaloid regardless, that's completely valid.

I was diagnosed with SM when I was about 5. I was diagnosed with autism when I was about 20 after burning out in university.

Knowing sooner that I had autism could have been life-changing, but I don't think I would have asked for any formal accommodations at school. Honestly, I haven't been able to get any useful ones at university, either, though not for lack of trying.

Officially, her gender is chimera, so she's presumably intersex. Considering she came from 2chan in 2008 and is inspired by military aesthetics, I'm guessing that was meant in a "haha different" kind of way.

But that's not how she's viewed by fans. She has a "chimera form" with bat wings and sometimes a tail. Her SV Nendoroid even comes with little wings for her, which is adorable. She's kind of just an ambiguous Teto creature afaik.

Also, how something is explained can impact how quickly it clicks for a person. One person may do well with an explanation that makes no sense to someone else, but with a different explanation, it may click faster for the second person than the first. And how you practice is extremely important, as well as how much time you spend practicing. People often talk about how many years they've been doing art as a measure for how good they should be, but many years of occasional, inefficient practice won't get you as far as one year of rigorous, structured practice. We don't really account for that a lot of the time. So talent is a real factor in any type of learning, but there are other factors that can look like talent.

MangoPug15

Has your sibling specifically told you that they've never watched a tutorial or studied anatomy? They randomly picked up drawing one day, but what did they do between then and now? Talent is definitely a thing, but how much you practice and how you practice make a big difference.

MangoPug15

Why are you posting online that you are complicit in the theft of a $45 figure from a small to medium local business?

MangoPug15

The first one is my favorite! I think you're doing some cool things with your work.

I recommend paying attention to your values. In the first and third drawings, Baldi blends into the background because there's not a lot of value contrast. Anatomy and lighting would be good things to practice as well.

If you want to draw Baldi ship art, draw Baldi ship art. Whimsy and joy are good things to have in your life.

Do you wish you wanted to interact with these people because you want connection or because you think it's expected of you?

Do you find it draining to be around people you're less comfortable with? It's possible you're masking a social difference difference like ADHD, autism, etc, something that causes you to naturally behave and interact in a different way than society expects, which can lead to inaccurate judgements. Hiding that and behaving in a neurotypical way takes extra energy. If that's what this is, then you feel safe to unmask around people you're close to. You have the energy to mask with new people, but it would be a lot more draining to mask at work all day. This may or may not be what you're experiencing, idk

MangoPug15

Have you talked to your sister about it? She might be able to help more than we can. I don't really know anything about the system in Finland, but you might want to look into a private practice if you can. The public health system might have longer waits and more people with outdated understandings of autism.

MangoPug15

There's a higher rate of SM among autistic people.

CFM has some involvement with Twindrill. I'm not entirely clear on what that looks like, especially for UTAU Teto versus SynthV Teto, but CFM may have been involved in the business deal with Fortnite as a proxy.

MangoPug15

It's factually incorrect. Coming to a conclusion about a scientific reality based on a sample size of 1 can be dangerous. Even if this particular conclusion is relatively harmless, similar ones could harm OP or other people. For example, there are sometimes people on this sub who feel particularly down about their aphantasia because they think it caused an unrelated experience they have.

As for harming other people, do you ever see posts or comments like the following? "I have ADHD and I don't need accommodations, so people with ADHD who ask for accommodations just need to try harder." "I don't struggle financially, so people who do are just spending all their money on coffee." "I don't like art, so schools shouldn't teach it." These types of takes assume everyone has the same experience as the person making the claim. OP is also making that assumption. "Could it be a coincidence that my experience is the way it is?" That's what people need to learn to ask themselves. Again, even if this particular belief of OP's is relatively harmless, it's a sign that they have a lack of awareness of other people being different from them.

It's possible to make claims about cause and effect based on fact, like "I believe I compensated for my autism as a child by developing selective mutism." It's known that selective mutism is more common in people with autism than in the general population, and it's known that social rejection can cause social anxiety for autitistic people. That's not the same as what OP is doing. OP is making things up.

I would caution against offering legal advice unless you're a lawyer, especially if there's a language barrier (like offering legal advice about a vocal synth from a Japanese company if you don't speak Japanese).

MangoPug15
  • Pay attention to what you do and don't like like in art you consume, and think about how you could put a twist on something you like to create something new.
  • Do lots of rough sketches around one idea. Challenge yourself to interpret the idea in as many different ways as possible. Get through the obvious solutions and keep going.
  • Experiment with new techniques and processes.
  • Try practicing with prompts or challenges. Having less freedom can force you to get more creative.
MangoPug15

Saying your brain compensated for something implies a direct causal relationship. In this case, that's inaccurate.

How can I be happy that she's in the game if I don't support Epic? I don't want Teto to be earning money or publicity for Epic. I don't want her to be associated with Fortnite at all. Epic uses AI, which I'm not a fan of, but what makes Fortnite particularly disgusting to me right now is the Obsession collab. The way Nikki is presented as a bitchy girl is gross and insensitive. She was stripped of autonomy and raped in the movie. That’s the whole point. The broken bottle Nikki harms herself with being provided as a weapon with the description "Don't make her use it" is disgusting. The Vocaloid scene has had ties to mental health and socially taboo subjects for a long time, so Teto being associated with Fortnite after the Obsession collab feels particularly wrong. I don't want Teto to be earning money for a company like that, and people being excited for this skin means it's going to earn them money.

Bras don't cause breast cancer.

I enjoyed the gambling event, but I still think it shouldn't have happened. It feels irresponsible for a gacha game to introduce its players to sports betting and prediction markets.

I find the current event a bit repetitive, and the matching process is slow. But it has its moments.

MangoPug15

They never acted like a leader or anything. Let everyone do whatever they want.

Finishing a big project with multiple people requires organization, communication, documentation, and deadlines. There can be flexibility and choice, but there has to be a concrete plan, and people have to make an effort to stick to it. Young teens often have the ideas and ambition to make cool things but lack the organization and follow-through. A lack of experience can also lead to various mistskes. You need to have someone on board who understand what the process should look like and what skills the team needs.

If you're having fun, then keep going, but keep expectations reasonable.

How far into it are you? You should have a conversation about copyright ownership at some point since you're working for free. In the event that this earns money, what's the profit split? Who controls what platforms the piece is on? What are you personally allowed to do with the piece, whether or not it gets finished?

MangoPug15

I got diagnosed after burning out in my third semester. I have to take fewer classes at once and live with my parents for extra support. I should have graduated after next semester, but I've had to add two more after that. It's frustrating that some people can do five classes and a job and not turn into a bedrotting rock??? But what comes after uni scares me, so I don't want to think about that too hard, either. :(

MangoPug15

Rejection is hard. Awkward social situations are hard. But the first girl you ever went on a date with was not likely to be your soulmate. Just because she friendzoned you doesn't mean you don't have a lot to offer a different girl who's looking for someone like you. It can take multiple tries to find the person who's the right fit, and the more times you do it, the more confident you'll get. Next time, plan out a few conversation starters ahead of time so you don't have to think of them when you're nervous in the moment. Make sure you're respectful to her and anyone else you interact with, demonstrate that you're listening when she talks, and make sure you wear deodorant.

Let yourself feel disappointed, and then keep trying. When you fall off the horse, you get back on. It takes courage, but you can do it.

MangoPug15

It can be so hard to find structured pants that actually fit your body shape if you're not a standard size.

There are also people who just have sensory preferences.

MangoPug15

A lack of jobs stems from the economy, not the population. More people should mean more jobs, like how there are more job opportunities in a big city than in a small town.

MangoPug15

They're saying you should build pity by pulling on banners with 4* characters you want rather than by pulling on a banner with a 5* you want and 4's you don't need. The potential for benefit is higher because you can get more useful characters out of it, but the potential for loss is also higher because you can waste wishes if you get the limited 5 you didn't want. It's a valid strategy, but different players value different things, so it's not the best strategy for everyone.

MangoPug15

There's always a chance of getting the 5* early, which resets your progress towards the 5* you actually want. It's a risk, so the best strategy depends on what's most important to you.
