It's a good idea. Getting everything tagged correctly is very tedious. And the automatic metadata tags are basically useless because they're all over the place.

I switched from Mint a few months ago. It's been great. Had a tiny problem with launcher icons in Electron apps after an update. But that's the only breakage I've had. The snapshots are real nice, I know I can always roll back any updates if needed. Changed out my nvidia card for a newer amd card and cachy handled it fine. Didn't have to reinstall.

There are a lot of updates every day, but it hasn't bitten me yet. KDE is a lot better than Cinnamon. I have it on my laptop too, but thinking about taking it off, just because I don't use it very often. Something with fewer updates would make more sense there.

It's a collective action problem. Using energy, having more stuff, better stuff, traveling more improves my life. And of course everyone wants a better life. Our needs and wants are essentially without bound. The negative consequences of my consumption are diffuse and the worst consequences will be quite a ways into the future.

Exactly. Charging and discharging a battery is a messy chemical process. The algorithm in there that is estimating state of change is just a bit off for some reason.

Could try reseating GPU and power cables. This actually solved a crashing problem I had. The power cable must have been a bit loose.

I went from an nvidia to an amd. AMD is a lot more seemless. Very noticeable in Flatpaks. Flatlaks with nvidia require downloading keeping up to date multiple versions of the nvidia driver.

Yeah if it doesn't work, easiest thing is to just try a different launcher. I've had good luck with Heroic.

I had fun running gcc on a pc and just invoking a single build step at a time and inspecting the output. Rather than doing one-button magic, take it step by step. I used desktop gcc on linux. WSL is an option on Windows.

There needs to be hysteresis in the system for big changes like this. Like 60% or even two-thirds so you don't find yourself oscillating back and forth out of control.
