While not at the top for coding, Gemini 4 does well on other AI Productivity Indexes (old.reddit.com) [AI]

Perfection is not throwing every arsenal you have at the enemy. You're not even close to perfectionist.

Mods removed my post for this yesterday without giving any reason whatsoever. Any mods reading this care to explain?
Marimo188
I understand what ECI range is but their comment could be interpret in many ways. And no one is ignoring it, I'm just sharing what Epoch team themselves is sharing on their feed.

So the problem with looking at individual testing is that you can find so many counter examples by other individuals.
Now should we make a benchmark which lists the results of all these major individuals? Well, that's what all the benchmarks are in the first place in a way so even if Theo is right, I can't just look at results of one guy, as goodness only knows what might have gone wrong during his testing and I don't want to draw wrong conclusions based on individual testers.

My assumptions are based on facts like they delayed 3.5 and there was no improvement in the pro models for such a long time. If they were ahead, they would have known the next version doesn't live upto the standards and wouldn't have promised the release to people.
But again, it's all assumptions like I said and there could be many other factors which played part but the trend holds up since the beginning so I will continue to assume for now.
Marimo188
Ah based on the trend, +15ECI/year, now I see what you did there
Marimo188
In some areas, it's explosive, in some areas, not so much but the point is that you can't say it by just looking at ECI index.
Marimo188
If I create a linear representation of a exponential curve using different indexes, it doesn't inherently become linear. What Paul is saying is that ECI is linear, not the AI growth!!!!
Marimo188
Correct, It's a straight line so how could it be exponential? That's sound logic which shows how much most people know here. /s

I'm speaking out of my ass but I think Google has always been a quarter or so behind for a long time. When they catchup, Anthropic is always testing the next 2 releases behind the curtain.
Ideally Google should already be training Gemini 5 and planning 6 already but they're still playing catch-up.
Marimo188
I'm not saying it's the best or optimum at all but if you're gonna mention the limits why omit the price?
Marimo188
This was the Opus release graph. But in any case, either you're not comprehending the post well or I don't understand what you mean.
Marimo188
Yup, that's just perfect for guys like me as I do the overall architecture with Opus and Gemini executes
Marimo188
Will it be an option if you become pregnant?
Marimo188
Beekeeper here. I don't know if the above guy is completely right but it's very common to see bees trying and many a times successfully able to remove their stings from skin and leather gloves. I see it once a month at least during my hive visits.
Marimo188
Let it finish, it's still 2026

I get what you're trying to say and it's a 100% valid point but you don't realize you're also as biased as "Barca fans". Do you have any evidence that Barca negotiated mid-season?
