No bigger example of accidental success than him. He has a long list of seemingly bad ideas that somehow ended up working well.
The most well known was him being told to send coal to Newcastle. It was a ploy by rivaling merchants trying to ruin him, because Newcastle was one of the largest coal distributors at the time. So sending a shipment of coal would be idiotic since Newcastle had nothing but coal.
There was one hiccup tho, in that when said coal was shipped to Newcastle, it was during a massive miner's strike, halting any production of sellable coal.
Timothy ended up making one hell of a profit from the whole endeavor, and it would end up being one of many unexpected successes with his other transactions.
