In pure business terms they are now following Microsoft's mantra that when it comes to innovation, it is always best to be the second (or third) person to cross a minefield.
This causes stagnation (Apple haven't produced a novel product in a decades), but it is stable, and investors prefer stable.

I have more sympathy. It's not like she is a wealthy A-list star like David Tennant who can afford to stand up to the BBC, and even he is pushing his luck.
Realistically, not one of us armchair moralists would have helped financially support her if she got dropped by every acting agency for fighting against the BBC. Therefore, we should not expect the powerless to sacrifice their livelihoods for our fight.
The entire article read like it was written by her agent who (correctly) realises that She is not a big enough or rich enough to rock the boat with the BBC without it ending her career. She will have been told to shut up and sit down while the damage limitation is being done for her.
The people we should be criticising are the wealthy A-list stars who actively decide to take acting roles in H.P. movies. They had real choice, and actively chose to do evil for money.

It's quite simple. They do it because we are an effective political tool.
For right-wing demagogues to gain power, they need a minority group for the populous to be taught to hate, and to act as a bogeyman and scapegoat for all the problems caused by the leader.
In the 20th century they picked on the Jews. In the 21st century they are picking on trans people.
As a strategy it works every time, and it always ends the same way too.

And none of them were rich decision makers with air conditioning.

Gotta love the Pride-themed milling cutters, so cute. 😉

The Royal Saudi Air Force has force of 364 to 384 combat aircraft, mostly American-made F-15 Eagles, Eurofighter Typhoons, and Tornados.
By contrast, the UK Royal Air Force only has a fleet of 158 combat aircraft, principally Eurofighter Typhoons alongside some 5th-generation stealth F-35B Lightnings.
Unless Trump ordered Burnham to do it, there is no UK defence reason for us to deploy our smaller airforce to help the vastly better equipped Saudi air force.

I realised that saying "my country is on the verge of fascism" really doesn't cut it down much these days. Where isn't? 😩

It's worse. NVIDIA borrows money to buy shares in other tech companies, to get their own people on the board, to get those companies to vote to take on unsustainable levels of AI debt (buying GPU chips).
They are forcing other companies to take on the financial risk. Many companies now financial zombies, dead in terms of profitability, but still shuffling about saying "Aaaaa Iiiiiiii"
This is a spreading business cancer which will take down huge numbers of companies when it all finally goes Super Nova.

I feel that the problem is that publicly, Burnham says lots of left wing talking points and PR (which seduces previous labour voters from the Greens back to labour again), whilst all his actual actions are those of the puppet leader of a Trump vassal-state (ongoing privatisation of NHS, more oil fields, support for Israel, ramping up the trans genocide, etc)
No amount of persuasion or pressure from the Green party will budge the needle on what actions Burnham actually takes, it will just slightly modify his public facing messaging.

When a fine is the punishment for breaking a law, that law does not exist for the ultra wealthy.
You will never see any change in the behaviour of corporations until corporate crimes result in jail time for the board of directors.

I'm not sure we should blame "the mouth of sauron" so much as Sauron himself.
The BBC is merely a tool for state propaganda and it does what it is told; the question is who specifically in the UK is instructing them, and who in turn do they ultimately report to?
Max_Wattage
You do you, but for me personally, refusing myself medical care to avoid the subsequent humiliation on an all-male ward would feel a bit like martyrdom, apart from the important distinction that with true martyrdom there are people who cared that you did it and your death inspired them. If I did it and I died as a result, nobody would care, and the state would probably just bury my corpse using my dead name.
As unjust and infuruating as the system is, I think pragmatic survival has to come first. If that means some guys on the all-male ward might then get an eye-full of my tits then so be it.

Thank you for being the only person in here who actually answered the question and helped the OP. Everyone else was judgemental, sarcastic, and brough the Linux community into disrepute.
Well done. I salute you.

Interesting use of yellow reporting by the BBC.
That headline use of the phrase "I'm not sorry at all", heavily implies a subtext of a lack of remorse for a wrongdoing committed by that individual.
1) It was a party democratic vote, not an individual choice. 2) It wasn't a wrongdoing, it was a technically correct policy statement.
IMHO The entire thing is an engineered political trap though. It was sprung first on Corbyn to kill Labour as a left-wing party, and the jaws have been reset for it to be used on Zach.
The unpalatable truth is that most UK voters care far more about household issues like rent control, jobs, and the cost of living crisis than about foreign wars far away. The faster Zach can escape this political trap and get back to talking about solving UK voter's economic survival issues, the greater his chance of political survival.
Max_Wattage
That is factually incorrect about the Green party on both points. They are not a single issue party by any means. They are very vocal of their support for trans people. Heck, the leader Zach is even followed everywhere by a trans woman videographer (who is awesome by the way)!

To be fair, I'm in the UK (aka TERF island) and I'm also doing everything from the second pane of that cartoon.

Great stuff. Amazing what can be done after years and years of practice.

Waiting for us to get thrown under the bus for political gain (yet again) in 3 2 1...

I am reminded that false anti-Semitism claims were how the right wing ousted Corbyn from Labour, then installed their own millionaire to lead it, and then systematicly gutted it as a left-wing party.
It seems like too much of a coincidence that the same political weapon is now being used to try and destroy the Green party, by planted or co-opted saboteurs.

So, the upper-middle class vote conservative, the lower middle class vote Labour, and the working class vote Reform.

This makes sense from her perspective.
She means "a success" for the major share holders and the directors who made vast profits from water privatisation, at the expense of the British people.
These are the business people she represents and works for, not grubby peasants like us.

Exodus 20:4-5 & Deuteronomy 5:8: Prohibit making carved images or likenesses of anything in heaven, earth, or water, and bowing down to serve them.
Welp, that's awkward.
Max_Wattage
Two reasons. 1) These results are masked by the "first past the post" system. At the time, Reform came second in most electoral regions, gaining a significant proportion of the disenfranchised Conservative vote. The split between Reform and Conservatives was what allowed labour to get elected. Labour didn't "win" more votes, so much as the Conservatives were split. 2) The billionaires really like the promise of fascism hiding behind Reform's thin veneer of political respectability, and so they use the newspapers and TV channels they own or control to promote Reform far beyond what their relatively meagre wins in parliament would warrant. This is why they regularly get equal billing with labour in the news.
What are you, a cop? I'm not giving you the pass phrase.
