Yeah. I too read this as a post from someone wanting honest answers.

I’m a disabled parent myself (shattered vertebrate in my spine- no wheelchair, but definitely limited), the spirit of your comment is nice, but I do feel it overlooks very real challenges disabled parents face.

I would totally hire you BUT for older kids. I have a bad back and littles are too much, plus they sometimes get into dangerous situations they have to be immediately removed from, plus, kids are kind of dicks and might purposely go to somewhere you can’t get them. When I have a chill 8 year old who wants to do crafts and eat something, I’d certainly call you

This seems really boring

So this is just a front to find more victims. Lovely

Your two oldest can be offered a fair wage to take on this job. Send them to a first aid/CPR class. Teach them how to cook simple stuff if they don’t already know.

Join a 24 hour gym and get a Libby account from your local library. When I got healthy in my 20s, I was new to healthy eating and found repetition VeRY helpful. Egg whites and whole grain toast mornings, chicken breast and salad every lunch, bison burgers on whole wheat bun every dinner. I also mapped had a couple of go to options for when caught out- el pollo loco chicken breast and beans for fast food and a local Mexican place for tomato, avocado, and chicken.

The only one who seems decent left and faced a mountain of scorn/derision for it. That tells you all you need to know. The whole royalty/peerage system needs to go.

Now do IDF

Ok, well I’m a mom and I don’t know anyone IRL who would hire a male babysitter. I’m also a lesbian with gay/lesbian/straight parent friends. I’m genuinely happy you found a network of folks to allow you to work as you like, but I’m not sure that’s a realistic expectation.
MensaCurmudgeon
I would not offer babysitting services. IRL, people are not going to hire a male babysitter. I would market myself as a PE buddy to help out stay at home moms, homeschool moms, kids on break, etc. you can charge more an hour as well if you’re promising an hour packed with physical activity.

“life expectancy in countries and territories with- publicly funded health care (Mean (m) = 76.7 years)”
“Life expectancy at birth in the U.S. increased 0.9 years from 2022 to 78.4 in 2023.”

Ethnically uniform? Guess you haven’t been to Denmark in over a decade. Also, Copenhagen is quite an international city
MensaCurmudgeon
They’re looking to Denmark as a model, and the Danes are known to be a healthy bunch, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

I always lament the lack of Jewish representation in Hollywood 🙄

I was born in the wrong decade
MensaCurmudgeon
Yes. Sensible opinions that didn’t fit the narrative got me banned from about half of my Reddit subs
MensaCurmudgeon
Why? They are a solution to public ownership
MensaCurmudgeon
Maybe public school should be for the students who need specialized attention. The pension/higher salary compared to charter/private can make up for the added difficulty. The children who can thrive and not disrupt in a group setting go charter. I don’t see an issue with that

My BIL with autism was allowed to be tardy/truant during his entire senior year without consequences by his private Catholic school due to emotional trauma. Reality hit hard when he pulled the same crap at 3 colleges and flunked out. He would have hated having to go to detention with the bad kids, and it likely would have stopped the behavior. Wish they would have had the backbone to actually help prepare him for the real world
MensaCurmudgeon
Don’t fight in the bathroom. It’s pretty clear really.
MensaCurmudgeon
That’s about 85-90% of the reason we are homeschooling. It’s not just that there’s a disruption. It what tolerance of that disruption teaches. My kid leans toward the defiant side anyway. No thank you
