There’s no way this goes boots on the ground. It is suicide both militarily and politically.

I mean just do a little digging into their geography and you’ll realize it’s incredibly easy to defend. Lots of mountains, minimal landing sights.

We would also come under fire from all of the shorter ranged weapons they have like tube/rocket artillery and older MLRS systems. We would have air cover sure, but we don’t have the kind of fire support a ground invasion would require.

Not to mention the size of the fleet we would have to send. The Iranians also, by the numbers have a lot more soldiers, less well trained than the Americans but they can shoot a rifle.
