Which reality is this in?

Courtlistener is your friend.

Does it have to be a decision or just a difference? In a lot of multi-versal universes you might run into a different sexed version of yourself (Harriot Dresden?) which is a genetic variation. If that's the case, then why not variations on the genes for height or hair color (or magical ability)?
Would we even be having this conversation if some decision of Margaret had resulted in Harry being born 24 hours early?
Ripple effects are cool, but maddening. Doctor Who, of course, deals with this by creating set points that cannot be changed.

I'm a lawyer, but not yours.
You should consider retaining a traffic ticket attorney in the place that issued the ticket.
Texas outlawed traffic signal ("red light") cameras in 2019, but this isn't that. I know they're doing some work of this in Bexar county (https://www.kens5.com/article/news/local/law-enforcement/san-antonio-texas-bexar-county-precinct-3-constables-speeding-drivers-new-scanning-picture-technology-lidar-reduce-accidents-crash/273-936a0c05-adc0-4483-8257-cc837d232685).

That's because it would be an obvious lie. Is there ever a time when a sov cit didn't think that they had something else to say?
MickLC
I had a 2.847 uGPA and a 161 LSAT and got in back in fall of 2020.
You want really good letters of recommendation. Also, you get to submit a personal statement that you can use to explain what happened and what's changed. Use that. Stress how life and its responsibilities have changed you in positive ways that make it more likely that you will succeed now.
MickLC
Yeah. I admit I didn't pick "criminal appeals attorney" by accident.
MickLC
I did actually cringe when we got to "you can't arrest me! You never read me my rights!" I might also have shouted at my monitor.
Custodial interviews were covered in my criminal procedure class, so it's not some advanced, esoteric point of law that only a criminal appeals attorney would be familiar with.
That said, does anyone else remember the "if you don't know the rule, make it up and be confident about it" rule from bar prep? From BWC protocol to Miranda, this essay had it all.

This is probably a good time to point out that Attorney Assistance/Lawyers Helping Lawyers programs are a thing. Rhode Island's, for instance, has details at https://ribar.com/?pg=confidential_attorney_support_wellness.
I hope people don't use it as a "get out of trouble free" card to avoid discipline, but something like this can be what's needed to figure out how much you need help. And these things exist to help folks NOT lose their licenses due to doing stupid stuff.
MickLC
So, you're saying it's a total of 100% accurate then?
MickLC
Man, I was hoping to see "Without Remorse" for the obvious Tom Clancy jokes.
MickLC
I suspect that it's got something to do with things that are coming. Remember what Harry learned is the reason for the Winter Court's existence (it's not to be the counterbalance to the Summer Court). Perhaps Mother Winter decided that its best use is in McCoy's hand.

I wish people understood that there are rules governing attorney advertising, which limit how we can market our services compared to other professions.
I had to pay the State Bar of Texas $100 to review my website because it's considered attorney advertising. If I hadn't done that and they discovered it, I would have had to pay a $250 penalty, pay the $100 for review, and possibly face disciplinary action.
MickLC
Oh man. If I had a nickel for every time someone has asserted to me that I should reach out to some politician they like and offer my services because "the MainSleaze Media violated HIPPA" by reporting on a health-related story, I'd be a WHOLE lot closer to retirement.
MickLC
It's not right, it's Reddit
MickLC
You beat me to it, although I was going to go with Saul "You want a CRIMINAL lawyer" Goodman rather than Rudy Giuliani.
MickLC
Oh man. My mom would have loved for me to see this last year after I passed the bar. She lives in Phoenix and is constantly dropping hints that I (or any of my kids who happen to be out of a job) should move there.
And between my age and skill set, it's been hard to find a job.
MickLC
It could also be that the daughter mentioned that she had been hoping to get the ring.
MickLC
I don't know which program you are using for prep. I used Themis/UWorld and I felt that the MBE was easier than a lot of the problems I saw in prep.
MickLC
The warehouse here used to have cooked brisket chunks. So good.
We haven't seen them in at least 3 years, but still check EVERY TIME.
MickLC
The other thing to remember is that the amount alleged has to exceed the threshold, not the amount awarded. That wasn't on the exam when I took it, but I remember it being on some practice questions, so I suppose it comes up sometimes.

I can't imagine that they're just going to leave the car in the parking lot until he can bond out and return. So, impoundment and inventory (which I recall being an exception) seem like the next steps that they take.
My question is how they define "yachts" since those are excluded. It seems a little weird to think about taking a jon boat or jet ski out for 90 days, if that's what they mean by "small personal vessel."
