And yet they act like babies when you kill them. "How dare you kill my baby, bby killer gh!"
Had a group who's baby we killed because they left him unguarded in the river. Me and my friend were growing tylos. Weren't even fully grown ourselves.
They swapped to full grown aquatics to jump us and threaten us.
People are just toxic and they'll use whatever reason they can to try and justify it.
MidnightMis
Easy to avoid yes, but it honestly doesn't feel like playing the game as much as it does a wandering sim.
Doesn't matter which map I'm on, I can stay out of these hotspots and find almost no one. I usually play smaller things so it's easy for me to hide/escape and on the 1-2 occasions that I do come across someone it is usually an apex that I can't do anything with but pester.
It's not really a fun experience.
MidnightMis
I noticed lol, defiantly not the same for me.
MidnightMis
Thanks, hopefully that means he'll be returning soon. I miss the head pats.
MidnightMis
Depends on how they handle it. If they leave it like path officials, unruled with 0 moderation then yea, it would.
I'd hope at least one of these games would learn from the mistakes of the others though.
MidnightMis
I think I see what you're saying. A home cave lobby of sorts could work. You sit in it and wait for your friends to join you inside of it and you all leave together and appear in the same spot. But once you leave no one can join your group. And if you want to add more people you have to leave the server and rejoin the queuing lobby.
The only way I can think of players loop holing that is by the friends list. They'd have to figure out how to keep them from joining off it.
MidnightMis
I think the rhamp riding a dienon was the trick, just run around untouchable spreading plague.
MidnightMis
Right, I don't want to have to run a mega pack just to have a chance at enjoying the game, but that's what it's come down to.
MidnightMis
I'm literally waiting for Echoes of extinction, or for any other dinosaur Survival game to come to console.
People can down vote, but it doesn't make it any less true. Sooner or later it will just be mega/mix pack slop left cause no one else wants to put up with it or their abusive community servers.
MidnightMis
I kill them when I get a chance. It's always fun to stalk someone from the water and wait for them to let their guard down.
Sucho still has good viability, mostly I see rex and spoons. Think I saw four different spoons last time, 2 rexs, a tt. 2 other sarcs. It's pretty much 3 teirs and up with the occasional lat/dienon/thal/hatz.
Rarely ever see herbies and when I do its amarg, bars, anno, or berta.
MidnightMis
Yea its annoying but why wouldn't they use the environment to their advantage? Lats can easily out manuver them and bait attacks, it would be kinda dumb to stay out in the open.
MidnightMis
Honestly hate that people white knight and care bare over babies. It's a survival game ffs and as an alio wtf else are you supposed to kill??
It's rare that I don't kill babies, its too much of a risk that they're running with a discord group and scouting for them. So they all pretty much just die now.
MidnightMis
Love it. It's pretty great so long as you don't run into teamers.
I wish more of the playables had better solo viability though, most of what you see is going to be apexes and semi aquatics becsuse nothing else is as good alone, and its kinda sad.
MidnightMis
Probably because having that many players in a single server causes too many issues.
MidnightMis
"Not everyone is a solo or a megapacker, some ppl just log in the same HC with their friend to play together the next day"
I can see how that would be annoying, I primarily play with friends too, but its really never been that inconvenient to have to go to the nearest ws, or just walk.
You could also just easily log in a safe bush/nook to avoid the hc swap. Unless you're trying to get growth buffs.
Or they could make it to where can pick what hc you spawn in. However that could probably be exploited.
A group spawn could also easily be exploited by mega packs (or even by normal groups) to end up in the same area as well (at least until they add match making). Imagine getting in a fight with someone you think is alone and suddenly five other people spawn on top of them.
I wouldn't say no to something like that, just not until they add match making, and it would have to have some limitations, like it can only happen when you first log into a server, other wise people would just exploit it and not travel at all.
And tbh one of paths issues is how easy it is to group up and get your friends back to you when they die. The ws make it super easy, no one has to travel the map, meaning no one has to interact or avoid interaction in between.
Solo or even in a group its not that hard to travel. People just don't want to.
MidnightMis
The length doesn't bother me, its that there's nothing breaking it up.
It helps to space out long post such as that with breaks in between.
And yes, it is a shame that players are like that, insulting and trying to gaslight to get a rage out of you to stroke their own delicate egos.
They must be trying to compensate for something.
Edit: As far as banning players go, for mega packing in officials no, but for toxic chat I've heard people complain about being banned, so your best bet is to send in a report, though instead using the in-game report you might want to grab screenshot and send it via the alderon-support page.
MidnightMis
You are doing a great service.
The other night I came across a a rex and baby meg traveling together. They might have been randoms who had just found each other, or perhaps one was a buddy that died and came back, either way I stalked them from the river on my sarco and when the meg crossed I grabbed him and barrel rolled him.
The Rex tried to protect by biting at me and coming into the water but it was too late. It was gone in a single roll.
Later had a baby sarco start following me around and after a bit of trying to get away from it I murdered it too.
And further after that I came across an adol tt and spoon fighting each other, and was excited to watch a baby fight but then they started tbagging and acting friendly to each other. So I went and killed the spoon.
Edit: forgot about the adult spoon I snuck up on killed when it was teaming with a second spoon to fight an amarg. It laid down to heal.
All this was in the same server too. It's honestly nuts how players will join a mode meant for solos and ruin it by grouping.
MidnightMis
I like a lot of what tylo pr0riger has said, he makes a lot of good points.
A rule that I dislike that I'd like to contribute are the rules that allow herbivores to form massive herds. -I get realistically herbivores likely grouped together in symbiotic relations but it creates cuddle pile synergy where players can just form large herbie groups and use the server as a chat sim, and unless you add even more rules and work for your moderators for hunting etiquette in these groups i.e: can't defend other herbies nearby being attacked- it makes it difficult for solos or small groups to hunt them.
Or rules that prevent you from playing in certain ways. Ie. Your playable profile is hydrophobic so if you're getting attacked you can't utilize water to escape across the river.
MidnightMis
They would have to figure out a way to let you come out of one of the active hcs, tbh I don't see too much of a problem with being randomly thrown into the world except for when it spawns you near players. It would at the very least make you have to travel and for that first minute you'd still have a hc buff.
MidnightMis
Guess it depends on how its implemented. I can see a duration timer fixing the "I'll just step outside real quick to reset the debuff timer." Issue.
The debuff could even be a drought itself. Water/bushes would deplete much faster, and not come back until the timer ends, and critter spawn rates would disappear completely, critter dens/den quest would become uninteractible.
MidnightMis
Defiantly agree with weather, problem with poi debuffs though is that they can easily be loop holed/countered.
MidnightMis
Same. Sometimes it can be really great but then suddenly its like it hits a cap limit and it goes into looping.
Repeating the last couple paragraphs over and over or the same conversations that were had early. Hitting rety only seems to generate a slightly different worded response but has the same context.
It honestly gets pretty frustrating.
MidnightMis
Simply unofficial or towering toofers are the only two I can think of. Towering is pretty new so it doesn't have much of a player base yet, I'm not sure how active simply unofficial is, it doesn't seem like it has anyone in my time line.
XL BR? Extra Large Brain Rot? Never heard of em. Least they weren't being the typical megapack sore thumb.
