decent. immediately responded but they wanted to send me a white when I just wanted the top plate replaced or another clear. I just received the clear top plate in the mail without being told that's what they were sending. but hey at least its what I wanted at the end of the day.
Minibu1ld3r
I think mine broke in a month with less than 100 deploys...
Minibu1ld3r
did you order a clear and get a replacement clear? they said theyre shipping me a white (wont know until it arrives), which is unacceptable.
Minibu1ld3r
mine also arrived cracked and is now fully broken after less than 100 deploys. less than a month from receipt
Minibu1ld3r
my clear was also cracked on receipt and now its completely broken. this is such a widespread issue its unacceptable. you know what's worse though? now they're sending me a white when I backed this thing a year ago for clear. Just another middle finger to early backers. Im gonna make a full separate post soon

I'll finish up my comment by referring to this link of an Asian man's experience dating in america. He's not horrible looking and was actually relatively successful career wise. But he's definitely not the American beauty standard so he swam uphill for years. Moved to Asia and found a partner nearly immediately.
I'll say in not so clinical terms: its nice to go somewhere you're wanted - celebrated. Not just tolerated like here in the us. That's all that men want.
Minibu1ld3r
like some have said below, I think if we're being truthful here, 90% of ppb are men who couldn't pull in the us. now, not pulling doesn't mean undesirable. it just means America's new stranger first, app culture does not work for these men who may physically present as average or below by western beauty standards.
who is the typical ppb? id venture to guess its largely black and Asian men, with a lesser mix of awkward/physically less attractive white men. i think the search for "traditional women" is smoke and mirrors. Us guys are looking for ANYONE who takes moderate care of their health and finances and wants a real partner in life. that's it. but there's a lot of projection, insecurity and defensiveness in this space cause us guys have egos we're trying to protect. so we'll say the women in the west ain't sh#+ but really we just don't wanna admit we can't pull anything better than the obese women that no one else wants. its the harsh truth but im trying to be real here.
now here is my deeper societal take, feel free to skip. I think a lot of this could be solved in the us if infrastructure moved away from stranger dating culture. i.e. if college life was able to be provided to every adult 18-30. shared meal spaces, shared hall culture, walkable neighborhoods, shared jobs/classes... all of these things would help the "grower" not "show-er" types. but american social infrastructure has decayed so thoroughly with churches, neighborhood gatherings, union halls, malls, etc all being abandoned that dating apps are the last refuge, where again, non western beauty is not rewarded.
Minibu1ld3r
agreed. I will expand by saying just because you cant pull doesn't mean you're not desirable. I pulled in college but now in the app and bar scene world, im invisible. besides for women that I just don't find attractive.
some people, especially minorities, are not the default beauty standard in the us. therefore you have to go abroad where the racial hierarchy isn't as intense (or even flipped in some instances). at least that's my read
Minibu1ld3r
I guess be grateful you have a boyfriend. a lot of us guys can't find anyone after college. That and the friendship recession... its been a VERY lonely 5 years postgrad. I think western society is sick. College is one oasis in this desert and the governments need to expand something like it to everyone. Maybe shared social housing of similar ages with events monthly?
Im literally gonna move from the us cuz I cant take this isolation anymore
Minibu1ld3r
it really doesn't.
Minibu1ld3r
dude so real.
Minibu1ld3r
awful.
work, home, work again. burnout, depression. moved away from hometown and haven't really made friends since but not for lack of trying.
im moving from the US at least part of the year, cuz I can't do it anymore
Minibu1ld3r
as someone else has said, the guy uses the word race specifically. I find it rich that some passport bros will decry lack of tradition, then go halfway across the world to find a woman of a completely different culture AND race and call themselves traditional, and then criticize racial mixing here in the states as "untraditional". Is it just men of certain races are allowed to go abroad? If youre so traditional why not stay in your own country and find a woman of your own? Hypocrisy would be an understatement. Stop twisting yourself into knots to have it both ways.
Minibu1ld3r
you were doing so well till the elon thing bud
Minibu1ld3r
I agree. and I respect you as someone "winning" by the current system's metrics saying it should change. its like the billionaires asking governements to tax them more haha. now, putting my policy hat on...
I agree especially on the 3rd front. average guys were happy with liberalism when they could still get some action. but after dating apps, girls started vying for football players and literal Rockstars. its become a race to the top and there's a lot of guys left in the cold. societies really don't wanna know what happens when that happens for a long time. and girls would enjoy having guys who actually wanna commit.
to answer what regulations need to happen I think first and foremost would be a "love is blind"-ification of all dating apps. you match based on personality, text prompts, etc. after agreeing to meet up, and arriving at the venue, you are revealed photos of your match so you can ensure you meet the right person for your date. to me, this would be an upgrade and an actually progressive step forward for dating in general as it would make people more open minded to not just their physical "preference".
and 2nd would be just less time to use these apps in general. weekend blackouts of the "feed" on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook. only emergency govt services functional at the time. weekly time limits of 2-3 hrs and limits on infinite scrolling. large incentives for app platforms to get people OFF the apps and into parks and museums. pokemon go style AR that brings people together.
oh and another little one is replacing ad and click revenue streams with traditional subscriptions. I know we all hate subscriptions but for things like social media it is a much healthier incentive structure. when platforms aren't vying for your eyeballs 24/7 because you pay upfront to use them, they're less incentivized to hire the same psychologists who programmed literal gambling machines to help write their code.
we're slowly seeing governments developing the will and the stomach for this. we've seen good policy for kids first but hopefully will be expanded to adults soon. its sucked being the guinea pigs for the largest social engineering addiction experiment in human history but hopefully we're nearing the end soon.

first 3 min clicked off. i just watched a video where PhD University of Amherst researcher said race actually had little impact on people's values and compatibility aligning during studies when participants were interviewed after singles mixer events. But yes let's continue letting "traditional vibes" and casual racism from random dudes dictate men's conversations surrounding dating.

more like re7, only to immediately to start dialing back. re8 was a palpable step back and re9 seems to continue that. capcom doesn't know what it wants this franchise to be
Minibu1ld3r
I do think re4's success was a product of its time as opposed to some awesome loop or mechanic that capcom created with it. re2 on the other hand I think is genuine masterstroke game design and is why that and re7 remain in the larger gaming cultural zeitgeist. I'll say it like this - RE fans reference re4, gamers at large reference re2 and re7.
Minibu1ld3r
really well articulated. re2 is so grounded in story and gameplay that id argue it transcends the medium and becomes genuine art. re4 feels like a game. made for gamers. doesn't help it came out in the uncanny Japanese voice acting era (final fantasy 10, mgs 3, etc) so it ages even worse. and capcom clinging to re4's story and gameplay will continue to limit the franchise to just "video games".
and tbh I think re4 was just popular for the at the time Revolutionary control scheme. but that is so widely adopted now that it makes the game behind the scheme less impressive every time I play it.
Minibu1ld3r
I have a hot take. I absolutely believe that re4's success was completely a product of its time, and people keep clinging to it for reasons that aren't articulate or are true of better action games.
re4 og came out at a time when games were just starting to experiment with the over the shoulder 3p camera. Re4 was considered a watershed masterpiece for its control scheme DESPITE the campy story, and kinda ho hum action. I tried playing re4 original after trying many of the other re games and it has aged like milk. its just NOT FUN. the controls are awkward. the camp is unbearable and ive played zombie action games that do its schtick but better.
but capcom keeps clinging to their golden goose hoping that one day it'll lay another golden egg. and I feel that fans will twist themselves into knots to explain how re4 had some magic juice of action that somehow makes it better than dead island, cod zombies, dying light, dead rising, etc. Spoiler alert: it doesn't. Where capcom hit a jackpot was re2 og and remake. Those 2 games have structures and gameplay loops that no one else has expanded on but feels so engrossing and fresh no matter how many times I play it. Re7 is similar. And its why it revived the franchise.

was gonna say exactly this. losing coins in mini games is actually really smart design and engaging. as weird as it sounds, compare it to the current extraction shooter craze. People love set ups that raise the stakes and have consequences. but for some reason, mario party fans refuse to see it that way and will just say losing coins in mini games is b.s. (but battle minigames from gc era are fine?) why? what law of the universe says its a bad mechanic for mp?
Minibu1ld3r
different strokes i guess. but something feels a lot more visceral when you know u could lose 1/3rd of your coins in the crane game or all your coins in bash n cash. its like bowser mini games sprinkled throughout the game.
Minibu1ld3r
I like 1 more for losing coins. some of the. mini games feel so high stakes cuz of that.
very optimistic ratios man.
