Handling 4 Codex accounts simultaneously? Use Allowance Bar to track their usage (and Claude Code, and Cursor, and Gemini, and…) (i.redd.it)

You're already past where most people stop. A few things worth adding:

  • AllowUsers/AllowGroups in sshd_config so only specific accounts can auth at all.
  • Restrict PermitRootLogin no further with PubkeyAuthentication yes + PasswordAuthentication no + KbdInteractiveAuthentication no, so there's nothing to brute force.
  • Firewall SSH to known source IPs, or put it behind WireGuard/Tailscale so it isn't on the public internet.
  • Watch for successful logins, not just failures. 19,500 failures is noise; one unexpected success is the thing that matters.

I work on ThreatCrush, an open-source agent that handles that last part plus auto-banning: https://threatcrush.com

Minimum_Hour519

i gave up on interviewing, now i just link 'em here: https://otr.podcast.pit.world, then we can agree on a rate. its all at will so there's literally no risk for either party. I tell them fire me after 2 weeks if you don't like my work.
