Steve Jobs was lucky as hell that he knew Steve Wozniak in the 70s or we’d never have heard of him

To be fair, it would have been pretty clever.

Recursive DFS is the most concise and elegant, and also uses less memory than BFS. If stack depth is a problem, easy to switch it to iterative.

MistakeIndividual690

Well recursion is elegant if nothing else

One of the great things about using SQL directly is that you can test, debug, and optimize it in the database before you incorporate it into your program. The ORM is generating SQL itself, inefficiently in many cases and you have very few resources to optimize or debug what it generates

Realistically overzealous DRY is a case of premature generalization and over engineering and will cause you problems, and too late or no DRY is under engineering and will cause you all sorts of other problems.

I usually use the rule of threes.

That said, it’s usually easier to fix underengineered rather than overengineered code. Overengineered code usually gets thrown away and rewritten.

> it’s not intelligence. It’s statistics.

What exactly do you think intelligence is then?

Also they can already do fully autonomous development, the outcome’s just not always that great. But that applies to many, many developers as well.

MistakeIndividual690

I think it was a terrible language, then it got pretty good

MistakeIndividual690
