I think it’s safe to bet on such stuff. PvP only zones or events are not a far fetched idea. Even retail has them. It’s likely they will bring such zones as optional content which would create such good incentives for PvE servers to have some toggle mentality to it…

As a life time PvP player I’m going PvE this iteration and betting on them delivering this.

MisterMeta

0 chance.

Stuns are the ultimate cc and enables a lot of class mechanics to work. Barring consumables if all Humans could break 2 consecutive stuns it would completely break the game. Same story for fear.

They will both incur a small cooldown to trinket like they do on retail. My guess is 30-45sec. If it doesn’t on release, it will surely after a pool of complaints.

MisterMeta

Small studios with unpaid staff have done a better job creating a custom world of Warcraft experience.

As excited as I am for the concept or potential of this project, I’m not really impressed by how they’re handling Forever so far. We’ve beta tested the game so little and even the limited content had massive problems with balancing. Full content at 60 is going to be an absolute shit show.

Prime example of bipolar development are the racial changes or Druid class changes. They constantly mess up Furor, and they introduced tiger fury, removed before we got to play out and brought power shifting from temu to please classic Andies without even considering PvP.

MisterMeta

Crit and heal was perfect for Tauren classes like shaman or Druid. Thought 1% hit is definitely better than both for dps classes.

Honestly if it wasn’t for warstomp and shitty blue elf Druid forms there would be no reason to roll Tauren for endgame. Good thing those two things are very big deals for me so for horde I’m locked in.

MisterMeta

I never said one does and the other doesn’t. They likely both will, as they do in retail.

MisterMeta

We don’t know how those “break” racials will interact with trinkets yet. I would be very surprised if they didn’t trigger a minor cooldown on each other (30-45 sec).

That’s still strong don’t get me wrong but I doubt humans are getting 2 stun breaks back to back. With classic you also have living action potion which would essentially DR stuns back to back if they don’t go on the same cooldown windows.

IMO the legacy talent which gives stealth detection is going to get removed once we have most people with it and stealth is completely chopped. There’s also so many talents to put points into now those +stealth talents almost feel waste.

They should remove all stealth detection and +stealth concepts imo. stealth should just work.

None of these issues are a symptom of the changes as they existed regardless of the exp nerf.

People who spammed the F out of dungeons were almost always doing that in a static anyway.

Everyone will still do dungeons for the quests and the rewards. It’s up to devs to introduce dungeon loot and repeatable quest lines to create an incentive outside of exp. Let’s not forget exp cut in dungeons also directly combat boosting culture, which is a very positive change.

MisterMeta

Yeah gaming culture is still fine but the ecosystem of media around it is insufferable honestly. I wish they took all the influencer culture and gave them their own servers so we wouldn’t have to be exposed to all the nonsense around it.

MisterMeta

Imagine wow not having PvP or PvE servers. All servers were PvE and we had this system in place. A lot of honor if you tag up in the world, some honor if you return marks…

Most people interested in PvP gear would tag most of the time. Most PvE oriented players would stick to BG farm to slowly get their items.

I’ve been a long time PvP server only player and this would make me play PvE server with such ruleset for the first time actually.

MisterMeta

Actually wouldn’t this make tagging in PvE server way more common? I actually would’ve loved that incentive. You can still make minuscule honor by returning marks or you can man up and tag up in PvE. Then we can even consolidate all servers to 1 type.

Even the most hardcore PvP player has that day when they simply can’t be arsed and wanna grind in peace. I would’ve played PvE server first time in my life if this system was in place.

Would be amazing.

MisterMeta

This is why I believe PvE mode should not nerf farming but double or triple the arc threat. Going with 3-4 defibs should be a standard and not collaborating in a closed space with sentinels, balls, even goddamn spiders should be a stretch.

The issue is they slapped a lazy PvE mode without giving anyone the challenge. Imagine if PvE actually felt challenging and it took cooperation to scavenge things out as a whole ass community.

I can’t believe they’re this shortsighted about the game’s future. They can’t combat cheats… most people don’t care about hardcore PvP… just turn the goddamn game PvE, add map modes that triple the rewards and enable PvP in certain hotspots with reduced arcs… it’s dead simple.

MisterMeta

I was playing a Ninja. Imagine what it felt like after an hour. Honestly if I could fit its grinding rotation to a macro I would in a heartbeat. For PvP obviously macro wouldn’t work.

MisterMeta

Obviously it doesn’t compare to BDO combat but at least for targeting (with some tweaks) it feels a lot better than most games out there. The action camera works relatively well and combat is smooth enough.

The problem of macro is impossible to solve without introducing auto attack system. The resources and combat is built around macros. Bunch of filter dps stuff under right click macro. Regular attack swings on left click hold. You only click the handful of other skills that are bigger cooldowns.

If they wanted to change that they’d have to introduce auto attack and disable macros. Then it would be quite spammy but more skill based. Right now you hold both mouse buttons and click a few skills.

MisterMeta

See this is the normal thought process for balancing. Who knows what clowns are slashing values without an iota of critical thinking…

MisterMeta

They turned the game to PvE because there are no cheaters in PvE. Nobody cares. They can’t handle cheats.

Win win.

MisterMeta

Sure, but let’s not kid ourselves and pretend the tourney and the hype around it doesn’t add fuel to the fire.

There will always be gold sellers and gold buyers. But if people can buy gold to make life changing kind of money, they will.

MisterMeta

I’m not gonna defend gold buyers. I think they’re scum and they ruin the game for all of us.

But you can’t possibly blame some people for trying to invest in the possibility to win 100k

Is it likely with streamer participation? No. But lotteries are a billion dollar industry so 🤷🏻‍♂️

If it wasn’t for that gold sales would probably be a lot less.

MisterMeta

I can’t believe so many people skip this detail. Forever Meld is not the same as Retail meld. You drop all threat but you don’t drop combat.

MisterMeta

Very little. Enough to follow changes and check out professions. I don’t care about min maxing as devs keep changing abilities anyway. Look at Druid feral changes.

I’ll wait for the real thing to pour energy into it.

MisterMeta

While dps windows matter a lot for boss fights, consistent damage output is also important for smoother raids. The value of 120 ap per 2 minutes vs 1 flat AP comparison only makes sense with the context of what you value more.

Anything that scales a cd power will also scale flat power. So if Tauren can get 20 AP because they can wear an item with 1% less hit, that could actually equate to more consistent dmg throughout the raid.

MisterMeta

You can even argue the 1% hit saves you some itemisation that could net you a decent level of AP which will persist the whole time without a CD and make up for comparable consistent damage.

MisterMeta

I for one appreciate people have to be in the world to gain experience. Go to dungeons for loot. Sorry but it completely destroys the world when people do that.

If they can do proper dynamic spawns and handle the sharding, we should all have a good old time questing and having WARcraft.

MisterMeta

Not really. You get shatter pretty early as a mage so not having to combo fire blast or CoC which has short range is big you can also frostbite proc into lance. Even without FoF it’s a big change.

MisterMeta

The game is also not balanced around level 20. What I’m talking about is its endgame potential of kiting around bosses or elites by spamming moonfire, swarm and running with uninterrupted 30% movement speed.
