I could live with flying cows and fireballs but the reason I never play wild mages is the "you lose all your gold" surge, which if you miss it in combat log is absolutely silent and you can very easily go hours before you notice it happened. If you set script her to auto stoneskin, she could cost you all your savings and you don't even know when.

No I don't remember what level I was. Yesterday I did Hasongo at level 8, not doing any RDC quests and it did trigger Maia's quest without reaching level 9

Try have her on the team when you hand over the first RDC quest I think that's when it triggered for me, she was asked to stay behind for few hours by her CIA boss just a regular boss

I'm almost certain that I didn't do Hasongo and still triggered the quest. I think when you do quest for RDC don't they ask Maia to stay and give her quest? I might be misremembering it was few years ago since I played.
