Maybe if the Saudi deal never went through (talking if plans fell through like 1-2 years ago since talks like that take a LONG time) EA would have put a lot more reaources behind it as a "one-last chance for redemption" type of deal. But with the Saudis looking to focus in ball-and-gun + ai + saddling EA with debt there is now no way they can justify a game that MIGHT break even on a $200-$300 million budget

Never anything specific, what I had seen was always a general statement of him covering up allegations so that he could include them in his book. Obviously you and the other poster have debunked this pretty well

I need someone to fact check me on this, but a reason I see a lot of the capital G Gamers use is that he knew of misconduct at Blizzard and instead of immediately reporting it he saved it for his book.

Again, I'm NOT trying to state this as fact, this is just a reason I see a lot of people bring up against him and would like clarity on it if some is needed. I personally have no dog in the fight as I view him as one of the few actual journalists left in the games industry and while I may not agree with a lot of his personal takes, find it very hard to argue with his pedigree and reporting.

Ok so let's say that they make a handheld that cost $600. All games for that lifecycle will need to be optimized to at least run on that console, aka the exact same situation we are seeing with the Series S this current gen, is it really worth it looking at the diminutive returns we are already seeing on current gen/next gen console improvements?

Playing through Cold Steel 4 atm and there is a lot of forced characters being put into your party. Not really too bad, and it gives me a reason to bring someone I normally wouldn't amongst the massive cast of party members

Doesn't it also run poorly on PS5? I've been holding off on buying it on console because I've heard it can get pretty rough at times.

I'd assume if this is the case, rough ps5 performance, then the Switch 2 would be a steep challenge to get even a decent port
