Have you watched the series at all first?

Moonlight_Xenith

Watch the Director’s Commentary videos, specifically for Overthrone and Volume 1. Alex essentially talks about how the series came to be and how it blew up.

Moonlight_Xenith

Another one I remember was I think the altercation between that female merchant and her addict son, and the two chem sellers outside of Drumlin Diner? If you’re wearing the vault suit when you go up to them, the chem seller says something like “stop right there, this doesn’t concern you, Vault Boy/Girl”

Moonlight_Xenith

I ruled out the common hot takes, as in hotly debated, which tend to center around “this gun is bad and here’s why” or “this faction was written poorly and here’s why.” A cold take is an opinion that has no debate, either because it’s a common opinion or because there’s no reason to argue about it because it’s purely someone’s personal preference. Does that clarify it better?

Moonlight_Xenith

Today years old when I found out people think it’s cheating to [flips through book] use a function built into the game??? 😭😭

Moonlight_Xenith

Aw wait this is so cute actually 🥺 imagine having him as an NPC in one of the settlements and you and MacCready can go visit him sometimes. It’d be really sweet to hear flavor dialogue of MacCready interacting with his son

Moonlight_Xenith

You’re so right oh my gooooood, everytime he says “there’s no machine you can’t charm huh” I’m like “WELL THERES ONE”

Moonlight_Xenith

Okay that’s good 😅 concern came from experience, aka my broke dumbbutt passed out while doing a cord cutting and it caught the (albeit laminated) cardboard I had it on

Moonlight_Xenith

I fear I’m about to be “that guy” but friend PLEASE do not do that on a paper plate 😭 that burning cord is HOT, and it can catch the plate on fire or burn through and burn your counter, do this ritual in something heat proof and non-flammable like a microwavable ceramic plate or bowl

Moonlight_Xenith

I’m just humoring the usage of “worse” here in a meta narrative sense, as in, they seem worse by virtue of the fact that they can and have shown they as an organization can do good, but due to bad leadership, they’ve forsaken much of those values. Asking whether the Institute or BoS have done more harm is more of a contest of the damage one organization will do, versus what the other has done AND will do

Moonlight_Xenith

“MOVE!!!!” I scream until I’m blue in the tits at the unnamed Settler standing right when I just got the floor tile exactly where I want it

Moonlight_Xenith

It’s so unintentionally funny to see someone else say “the guns are really satisfying” like twenty minute ago then see this comment pop up 🤣 yall should fight for who’s right by having an old western style duel

Moonlight_Xenith

Honestly I wanna know how does everyone have some neat writing with perfectly taped down trinkets in their journals...is there some school for aesthetic journaling I didn't get my invitation to

Moonlight_Xenith

The gun reload made me think you were about to be not such a cool cat lmao

Moonlight_Xenith

I did reply to someone else who didn't have a cold take on the BoS, pointing out that it wasn't cold even if I agreed with it somewhat. If you really believe that about the Institute, then I'm not singling you out because I disagree with you, but what I am saying is that, as I'm sure you're aware, the Institute is very transparently framed as the bad guys by the game itself, which, unlike the BoS comment, makes this extremely blatantly not a cold take, especially since you'll still find people arguing the point heatedly in YouTube comments or the subreddit today. You're, of course, free to deny the game's implicit "Institute bad" messaging, but calling it a "cold" take, as if it's not one of the significant moral dilemmas presented to the players by the narrative, is unfaithful at best or tone deaf at worst. That's all I mean.

Moonlight_Xenith

Not a cold take, like literally at all 😭😭 be for real

Moonlight_Xenith

Honestly, if that's what they were going for, then I think a true "nuclear winter" Fallout game would be heat

Moonlight_Xenith

Wouldn't call it a cold take since I think there's a lot of debate around faction morality, but I somewhat agree. Personally, I think what makes the BoS feel worse is that with the Institute, we only see them at their worst, having not served the Commonwealth in any way. But with the BoS, you get the sense that they're so dyed-in-the-wool about playing soldier that they've lost sight of what really matters. We've seen in previous games the good they can do for people, so they seem worse by virtue of the fact that they used to do right by citizens, but now they spit on that and call it "charity" while exploiting the people they should be protecting

Moonlight_Xenith

What's your favorite? Mine is that outhouse on Spectacle island with the woman skeleton bending a male skeleton over her knee, with a wooden cutting board (paddle) and drugs nearby. Saw that and went "well, that's not how I'd choose to go out" lmao

Moonlight_Xenith

You're so right actually, I love making big elaborate (kinda ugly cause I'm bad at building) structures, I've done for hours sometimes

Moonlight_Xenith

Idk if you’re this invested, but I can give you a lore archive that also includes episode-by-episode notes. Has a lot of theory stuff and analysis sprinkled in but you’re free to ignore those.

Moonlight_Xenith

What are the building parts with the intact windows? Is that the barn piece with a mod? I thought all the windows on all the possible buildings were broken

Moonlight_Xenith

Is this exclusively a PC exploit? If so, the PS4 player struggle strikes again 😔😔
