Had this same problem last night, eventually figured out that you can pump in lava from underneath. Just attach the fluid pipe to the bottom of the Magmatic Boiler.

Really effective, but I would recommend only using it when you are very dehydrated, as it is something like 300% recommended amount of electrolytes. If nothing else it can get expensive. I do recommend it though.
