I'm actually the same as you. I think this might be the way the story is going, but ultimately I wouldn't want to break them up. I love the relationship they have and how they communicate (like if you flirt with Elena in an earlier ep, she flat out says "I'm going to tell John Boy you said that." and she does!) They have a fun sex life and are always together at parties.

Elena and John Boy really give me vibes of like "We met in college, we have three kids now and just celebrated our 25-year anniversary."

Yeah, but JB does say in an earlier ep that Elena wanted a threesome and so they invited Arieth into it.

We know that they're both sexually adventurous and communicate it to each other. Elena says her and JB have talked a lot about it and, in Ep 11, she says that she wants to be sure he'd be comfortable seeing her with someone else before considering it.

I don't think JB is a bad guy at all, he's got a cuck fantasy for sure (and as far as that: as long as all parties are consenting, to each their own), but I haven't seen anything from Elena to suggest that she's genuinely not comfortable with it, just moreso that it's for his benefit than hers.
