Unfortunately this conversation should have been upfront from the beginning. It should have been a question of when do you want to have moved by. Willing to wait and waiting until your patience is gone are two different things. Sometimes you don’t know until you’ve had enough.
NeekaNou
Exactly this. When I had my daughter I would track my partners trip home from work on my phone because while I could handle the baby, emotionally I just needed him.

We did it through the sales agent. We were like “we’ve planned our savings around the September/October date, we can push and do sooner but we wouldn’t be able to afford flooring etc.” the sales agent really advocated for us. She apparently said to them that they had to make it worth our while to pull up our timeframe. In the end we got an extra 5k off as well because of 2 down valuations. Only extra we paid for was thicker underlay at £429
We didn’t threaten to cancel until we had issues with the valuation. That was luckily all sorted though

Our new build was suppose to be ready September/October.
We completed and were in 29th June. It was ready and they wanted us in on the 11th.
I was super surprised too but used it to negotiate extras as we had to be a lot stricter with our savings. Got flooring, downlights and kitchen upgrades included for free.

If you are working part time it’s possible bank holidays are worked into the calculation based on your working pattern.
NeekaNou
I don’t know if this is different (new build) but I exchanged over a week before my completion and transferred the funds from my LISA with money box at least 2 weeks before.
NeekaNou
It’s because you are salary sacrifice. You sacrifice part of your salary so it is included in the employer contribution
NeekaNou
Are you zero hours? The holiday pay looks like rolled up holiday pay which is 12.07% of your usual rate.
You should still get nmw hourly though. Also if I were you contact HMRC and they may be able to split your tax code so you are not paying basic rate

We have put money aside for it, thank you

Sucks about the interest but i am comforted by the rest. I’m an overthinker so I always think something is going to go wrong so this gives me peace. Thank you
NeekaNou
Thank you

That was my thought. I’m buying a new build and while the fee is starting at £150 a year, there isn’t a set cap. Makes me think of that and maybe the buyers aren’t willing to risk it
NeekaNou
Is the management fee subject to increase at no specified rate? With a lot of new builds now, they can’t guarantee how much they will increase by and that could put people off
NeekaNou
Same

I hated them

I can’t say love because I hadn’t met her yet but I my feelings became intense when I started to feel her move around 20 weeks. It was a different feeling then.
Love came after she was born.

When my kid wants pizza I look in the supermarket. Not sure if she’s ever had takeaway pizza. I mean she is 3 nearly 4 so that may be it too
NeekaNou
Can’t say I’m surprised

Depends on the company.
Some will hire maternity cover so fixed contract, some will offer it as a secondment in the company for current employees and some will give others the additional responsibility for an ‘acting up payment’ on top of their usual compensation. I work in payroll and that’s what we do in our business.
NeekaNou
Thank you. I’ve just dropped them both (solicitor and broker) an email.
Your response does give me some ease though. I managed to get our address on Royal Mail’s address finder but I don’t think it’s pulled through to some companies. It’s coming up on at least one comparison website so I was hoping we could do that.

My partner’s buyers had their solicitors come back and moan about holes left when we took the tvs down. My partner was like you got £2k off the purchase price, if you want me to come and patch it up it will cost you £2k. Solicitor never came back to us.
Its based on contractual. At least at my employer it is
